My dad wants to make me a t-shirt that says I know that you believe I understand what I think you said, but I'm not sure you realize that what I heard is not what you meant.

which is "I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.” (which was said by someone in US government a long time ago, apparently) but with the 'you' and 'I' switched - because I misinterpret stuff, and then I don't know I've misinterpreted so the person talking to me doesn't know, until we both get totally confused!

He then came up with a t-shirt slogan/joke that says
ASPIES ARE COOL place in the oven on gas mark 4 to warm up
cause Aspies take stuff literally

And for those of you fed up with psychologists - read this joke

Your dad is cool too. I'll draft him a business proposal to co-found the Lukewarm T-Shirt Company if I ever get round do it, which could be by 2024, by which time I may not look very hot in a t-shirt myself.

I have seen this joke in a cartoon version before. It was handed out in class by Andrew Leicester, a lecturer on Project Management. In his version, the guy in the balloon was a Project Manager and the guy on the ground was an engineer.

I would absolutely wear the second shirt. or maybe
Front: Aspies are Chill. Back: Please Remember to Defrost before Serving.
with the italics being the ice font and melty fonts respectively.

That's funny except if someone really did take it literally! :)

"Gas mark 4" isn't all that universal...

How about:

"ASPIES ARE COOL! Recommend 2 minutes in microwave at 1/2 power before serving."

:D Or just 'microwave for 2 minutes to warm up'.

I came up with one as a message to AutismSpeaks:

Front: I'm an [Aspie/Autistic], deal with it!

I wouldn't mind having a shirt with that on it because I'm like that from time to time.

Nobody where I live knows what Asperger's Syndrome is anyway.

When I was first diagnosed, though, I thought it would be cool to have a tank top printed which I could wear when I go clubbing to ward off unwanted attention from leechy drunk guys who want to touch me. I envisaged one of those radioactive symbols, followed by this text:

:!:
Warning!
APERGER'S SYNDROME
Do not touch!
MELTDOWN IMMINENT

Where I live, there is an enormous HIV-positive population, so anything with "syndrome" in it sounds frighteningly terminal and contagious.

I like the 'autism roars' and the radioactive slogan with 'meltdown imminent'. That one could come in handy with the 'Do not touch!'
Someone really should start a company!

Another quote that fits quite well with Asperger's (from the Hobbit):
"Good morning!" said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out farther than the brim of his shady hat.
"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?"
"All of them at once," said Bilbo.

wouldn't really work on a tshirt.

They're not Autism or Aspergers specific, but there's actual T shirts sold about geeky specific interests that I liked.
