Not only am I on the autisic spectrum, but I have a mood disorder that is at it's worst during summer. It's a type of seasonal effective disorder. Most other people with this type of disorder get depressed during winter. Not me!! I get depressed after being upset in summer. This is due to several things, my allergies are worse in summer, I'm bothered by the exessive daylight, I don't like all the extra activity by people in general, I don't like it when it gets hot. All these things that bother me are made worse by my summertime insomnia. I have this problem other times of the year, but not so bad. This happens to me every year. I am always glad when Fall comes!! ! I do what I can to help myself! I also have a good support network.
Even with things being in my favor, summer still drives me crazy!! Does anyone have problems like these??????????????????

I hate summer, hot weather tires me and makes me even more nervous, I try to spend as much time as I can indoor with air conditioning.

I wish I was only depressed in the summer instead of all year round. :(

Anyway, yes I do have a problem with summer but only because of my pale skin. Even if I put on sunscreen several times a day I still end up getting burned so I have to wear long sleeve shirts and pants. I get really hot.
I hate the summer.

I overheat easily and since I do physical work, my hair can sopping wet with sweat by 9:30 a.m. I hate the humidity-I always feel dirty-I love the Fall and the Spring for the mild temperatures and also the nice smells.

Being highly sensitive to light and sound, I dislike summer too. And this summer I don't have an AC, which is unfortunate since we're just getting through a major heat wave in Seattle, where I live. I've had too much light and noise.

I also have pale skin, so despite 100 degree temps continued to wear my long-sleeved jacket when outside. I both burn and develop skin rashes that a dermatologist told me were benign but unpleasant, and the only good solution was to avoid sunlight (which is why I live in Seattle).

As usual when I'm overexposed, I shut down. I don't get depressed per se, but instead simply go into a very low mode, in which my affect flattens and my interest in doing anything other than pursuing my "special interests" (computers and math) fades.

I hope to find an AC tomorrow, and then shut the windows, blinds, and simply "hibernate" until I recover.

Yes! Where I'm from, on summer solstice, there's 21 hrs 52 mins of daylight (Interior Alaska) - my circadian rthym is off, even more so during extreme daylight. I literally forget to sleep. Alaskans, as a whole, tend to be much more active during summer so my town & Univeristy are comprised of manic humans. Doesn't help.

But I love autumn - my favorite season. Where I live autumn becomes apparent in August (yay)! Weirdly, Seasonal Affective Disorder (winter) is rampant but I have almost the reverse. I prefer winter and do not mind the darkness since I'm active anyway.

I hate heat and excessive sunlight. I like drizzle. I can't move when I sweat. it's the most unpleasant feeling ever. I'm looking forward to cooler weather.

I am a man who attempts to be an "outdoors man" so when there is intense snow and rain it spoils my fun as I can not do things like forest walking with my dog. But I hate the intense heat and sun light of summer. I like it when it is dry, bright but overcast.

I have worked in the university sector for years and I always find that the campus is a sad empty dead place in the summer. Everthing is shut and empty, also it can get too hot.

I used to live in a flat where I was waked up in the early hours by the sea gulls who wake up when the sun comes up. They would fly around making a frightful noise which is not the best way to be woken up in the morning. I sincerely wished that Mr and Mrs Twit would move in near my flat (not too close as I do not want the Twits too close) as they would be likely to kill the gulls and eat them.

I hate heat waves and the sun is too bright. Sleeping at night is more comfy but thank god my room was cool last night due to having the door open and fan blowing and AC on so the cool air get in the bedroom.

No, I love summertime.

Bright sunlight: Polarlized sunglasses, as well as a hat.
Pollen allergies: Nasal antihistimine spray and Singulair.
Everyone being more active than usual: Have my own activities to keep me busy, although I do also benefit from living in a rural area.

I don't have a problem with summer per se - sunshine actually improves my mood (I'm quite NT-like in that sense). However, I definitely have a problem with the miserable, wet, cloudy non-summers we've had in th UK for three consecutive years now. One more bloody July like this and I'm emigrating.

I hate summer, especially with some of the really awful ones we've been getting here of late (the last couple of years we've had heatwaves with >10 days over 35 degrees).

I love winter. Everything's nice and cool, so I can wear as much clothing as I like without any discomfort, and everything is all green and alive, as opposed to the rest of the year. I can't stand dead vegetation. There's something very pleasant and peaceful about rain; I find it very reassuring for some reason.

But I particularly hate spring. I hate seeing the way that everything starts off all perfect and lovely, but slowly seeing all that is nice and wonderful fade away. The nice, crisp, clean air becomes warmer and warmer. The sun gets brighter, hotter and more oppressive, burning down with its lovely UV rays. The skies, previously swirling with water and activity dry up, and become empty and featureless. And finally, as spring continues on its inevitable journey into summer, the green vegetation fades into a lifeless brown, until the hills are completely saturated with the colour of death and sterility.
