Does anyone here organize things 'differently'? I mean I keep things where they're not supposed to be, and it's upsetting when someone 'puts it away'. I keep my things where they are, for a reason. Someone cleans up, then I can't anything when I need it.

I think a lot of people are like that. My very NT friend was the same way and used to get mad at me when I had OCD attacks and started to clean her room.

Yea, i get that a lot too. My mother has a tendency to go into a cleaning spree, and afterwards i find i lost something. however, if i left it the way it was (which is typically clutter in the eyes of others) id be able to find what im looking for just fine.

I've always alphabetized my music collections by Artists' first names instead of last - the logic being that in cases like Alice Cooper, where the name was originally just the collective name of the entire band, then later became the moniker of the singer once he broke away from the band, if I filed by a traditional alphabetic system, the bands' albums would have to be filed separately from the singer's solo works. A for the band, C for the singer (or more accurately F, since his real name is Vincent Furnier). My way is certainly atypical (duh), but I think more logical. It does throw off visitors a bit, but what the hell are they doing touching my stuff anyway?

And yes, I also have a place for everything and put everything in it's place, even if that place is not 'away'. Some things need to be handy when you need them. Others just 'belong' on display.

It seems that I organize things by being disorganized. If my room is clean and everything is put away then I have a lot of trouble finding things. However if my room is how it normally is (everything that I commonly use in a huge pile on my desk) then I find it easy to find things. My mind is very organized, very structured, but I can't seem to do the same to my external world. I guess you could say that I organize 'differently' by not organizing much of anything, and that seems to work.

That's how they do it in record stores, anyways. Not strange at all.

I'm about the same way. So is my son a lot of the time. It's funny though, because it drives him nuts when I'm not super organized-it might take me a few minutes to find something, but if I know where it last was, I WILL find it while sorting through the pile. I'm annoyed when he's so unorganized. I gave him a folder the other day to put his class assignments in. He hasn't touched it once, just lets them hang loose in his backpack, lol.

They still have record stores? I need to move. I really miss those. But yes, you're right, they did. Most radio stations I worked at back in vinyl days did, as well. That's probably where I picked it up.

They have some, not many. And I did a show at a local 100-watt station. They had LPs from floor to ceiling all around the library. Awesome stuff.
