Why the heck can't I get a picture into my message?

well for one *.bmp is not universally supported format for browser. Use jpg or png.

Secondly that url requires you windows live login, in other words you can't host the image there because nobody but you can see it.

Save the image to your computer, convert it to jpg or png and then upload it to one of the image hosting sites like photo bucket or flikr

yet people are seldom referred to as 'stunted' or 'impeded' - only 'ret*d' has the emotionally loaded reference and context to make its use meant as a casual offensive.

Using the term 'ret*d' or 'ret*d' is definately a valid discription of a condition of delayed growth. Using the term as a casual put down of anyone (including yourself) is discouraged on WP. :D

Yeah, it is interesting. ret*d means slowed down or stopped and, because it was the most common use in school, etc..., people see it as basically part of the term "mentally ret*d" where it means something like incompetent.

In any event, the meaning is misunderstood SO much that it probably shouldn't be used unless it actually means what so many expect it to mean.
