I am sick of clicking on ambiguous headlines to read the news coming from my RSS feed, and then finding that my online source for news has been tainted yet again with a sports story... Ex. The Bucks can't sto... What do I think when I see that, someone is playing off of starbucks name, and it has to do with starbucks, which might actually be news... Click on it, and find a bloody basketball story... I hate sports, exception being hockey, but I don't even want to read about hockey. Sports isn't news to me, and then they disguise sports stories with an ambiguous headline that makes it look like news. I don't want to be giving a site hits for a sports story, that will just encourage them to put more up in the future. Why do people publish something that is so far removed from actual news and call it news? Do people actually read that crap?

Yeah, sports news are annoying. I hate most sports and they are annoying. There's even an entire sports section in the newspaper, but I've just never been a sports fan.

You can't blame newspapers for covering sports just because you don't care for them. I agree that newsgroups should get smarter with their RSS feeds so we can edit more easily, but to think that the sports-desk is vaguing up their headlines to get your hit is ludicrous. Sports are popular! Lord knows why. See also: celebrities.
Maybe find a speciality news blog which covers you're interest and follow that instead.

I agree, sports news pisses me off so bad. Who CARES??! ! It barely qualifies as news, it is irrelevant to real life in every way except the bank balances of the guys who get paid gazillions to run about on a field after a little ball.

I agree. Sports news is not news. At most, it should get the occasional special interest story, since it is (popularity is not a factor in good news reporting) just a special interest. It is not news.

LOL! Have never understood whats the big deal (read big headline) about some people have kicked a ball around....

When I grew up I had a kind of phobia against sports. If my favourite TV program was blasted out in favour for an extended to some people more important and excited sportsmatch I totally freaked out....!

Now I dont bother anymore as I happened to marry a husband very interested in sports. That made me respect it in another way, but yeah they could keep their news to themselves, hahaha!

My brother's default TV channel is ESPN. My default channel is "off." :)

I'd be more interested to learn about the Amateur Duck Calling Championships than any mainstream sporting news.

I don't care for the big team sports: football, baseball, basketball, hockey, car racing (ugh), boxing. They are boring and violent, and nowadays the major leagues are more of a business venture than a sport. And yes the sports news is pretty much unwatchable.

I like triathlons and cycling very much. Also swimming, tennis, beach volleyball and track.
