It is certainly tangental to the differences of autism. Read it: I am sure you will agree.

Tangental? I looked this up because (after reading) I could not discern what point you were making. I could only find it in an unabridged source:

tan·gen·tial (tn-jnshl) also tan·gen·tal (-jntl)
adj.
Merely touching or slightly connected.
Only superficially relevant

I believe that you are saying that this paper is only superfically relevant to the differences autism? But then, why would you post it... My conclusion doesn't make sense to me. I've given it a thorough read (I recognize some of the concepts from twenty years ago when studying experimental psychology) and I tend to agree: There isn't much that I can see that is associated with the differences of autism. But, of course, "differences" can mean many things too: within the spectrum or between AS and NT.

I know you have a very logical mind, so I am probably missing your point simply due to a lack of information. Please expound.

Haha. Yes. I misused tangential. I should have said pertinent.

It does relate to autism in that autism is a difference in processing, in information gathering. The paper was written too early to be related directly to autism (for instance, he doesnt have any information on perfect pitch - or any savantry - but he acknowledges that they exist).

That magic seven.. In north America we have 7 digit phone numbers. The 3 digit area code is processed separately(in situations where you have to dial it). Most people find it very easy to remember a sequence of seven. On the other hand, someone with an impairment, such as MR.. cannot. And yet there are autistics that can rattle off hundreds or thousands of digits of pi. Or sequence many digits and multiply them.

And he speaks about what is done with data coming in, and how it is compressed into code. For instance, The application of body language to spoken words allows more data to be transmitted through the use of alternate channels. Some Spectrumites process on either narrow channels or on singular or dual channels only. I myself have a hard time listening AND watching someone.
