Which do you prefer?

my ultimate movie environment is home alone, on my beanbag chair, with a drink and a food present and the lights on dimly.
i think watching a movie with people can be like reading a book in a group....takes a lot of the movie's value out!

what are your movie habits?

Well I like to go to a cinema on an off peak day and watch a film, I used to be a regular at one cinema. I have not been to the cinema for years, I feel that I should start going again.

Favourites I've seen before I love watching with others, I love to introduce people to stuff I like and see if they react to the same stuff as me and in the same ways. New films I preferably watch alone, I like to lose myself. I enjoy both going to the cinema alone and with friends, it depends what sort of film it is. I also adore commentaries and features, I will watch them over and over.

I prefer watching films alone. Being with other people takes a lot of the emotion out of them, even if nobody says anything.

Besides, my tastes in movies are wildly different from anyone I'd be able to watch a movie with.

I dont mind movies with company, so long as i know them and theyre as interested in the film as I am and hopefully wont talk during the presentation (Hate it when with someone who asks questions during it, "The movie will explain all things in time," i reply :? ).

I agree with this. :-) My little sisters have small bladders apparently since they can't last a 2hr. film without "I have to pee" LOL! The 7 year old asks what's next I say "Shhh watch the movie/be quiet etc." :-) Tomorrow I'm going to see Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3-D I'm so PSYCHED a movie just me alone that'll be interesting. :-)

It depends on the person i guess, some people ask annoying 'who's she?' 'didn't he just die?' 'what's he doing that for?' type questions but it can be funny sometimes. Other people are good when the film is crap.

Alone is best if you want to actually see the movie tho i agree.

Depends on what movie and what company

I have stopped going to the cinemas since years, the random audience use to bug me with only their presense....
When been to the cinemas with my brother the first thing he ask when film ends is "How did you like it?"
I have difficulties to reply such question emediately when the first line of end credit comes. I need to think of what did I just see
This is easier to do when watching a new film at home and in relaxed environment

Some movies is very personal that I absolutely have to see alone, it feels like Im the only one who understands them

Some movies is classical together with my husband. They only work to see together with him. We have seen them alot before and know them inside out
Its just relaxing to us to see these films and say the lines a second before said in film and fool around as we know what will happen...

I've just recently gotten over the stigma of "going to the movies by yourself". There were a lot of movies I wanted to see this summer, and, not really having any movie-going buddies, I just decided to go see them by myself. It's actually been kinda nice. I show up whenever I want and see the exact movie I want.

To tell the truth, I'd rather see them with a friend (oooo, or a lady!), but it's really not that different. I normally do stuff during off hours, anyway. Sunday afternoon makes a good movie time, and the tickets are almost half price, then.

I don't like watching movies at home as much, though. I hate borrowing things, so I don't rent movies very much. I don't think most movies are worth buying, though, so my collection is pretty small. Contact is my favorite movie, but I haven't really found anyone else that likes it that much. Too bad, I'd like to watch it with other people sometimes.

I actually prefer watching movies with other people, particularly comedies. I find it much easier to laugh if someone else in the room is, too.

Do you mean movies at the theater or movies at home?

Either way, I rarely think of watching them when I'm by myself. It's like CDs or music downloads -- I have bunches of them, I just never think of playing them.

I usually like to have my daughter with me when I go out to the theater. When I'm at home, it depends on the person. If they can sit quietly and just enjoy the movie with maybe the occasional quiet comment, that's one thing. If they have to provide a running commentary, that's quite another.

Alone. Particularly with a drama or a film that consistently makes me cry. And especially with anime.
Unless it's a slasher horror flick. Violence and viewing company are proportional. The more blood and gore, the more people it will be enjoyable to watch with.

By the way, if that picture is you, then you have absolutely perfect cheekbones. Almost like a young Meryl Streep.
