Do you believe being impatient is an AS trait?

I am incredibly inpatient.

I'm very impatient. With food I like to eat at a certain time and there was a situation which I got very upset because it was 1pm and my meal hadn't arrived yet.

I'm so impatient, that 'Tired Of Waiting For You', is my favourite song.

It depends. I have no patience whatsoever with stupidity, thoughtlessness or laziness. I get Autistically frustrated when I expect something to happen a certain way or at a certain time and it doesn't. It screws with my routine and I haatte that.

OTOH, if there's something I want very badly and I know it's going to take a while for it to all come together, I can be as patient as I need to be.

If I was sitting in a restaurant waiting for an hour for food then that would be unacceptable. If I, or someone else, was cooking a big dinner, then I could wait for an hour. Unless I hadn't eaten in a while, then I would eat something small so I didn't get a headache while waiting.

In general, it really depends on the situation. Although I tend to become more impatient about something if there are other people involved.

I may be impatient at a restaurant waiting for food, especially if I had been expecting it sooner. However, in general, I think I am a very patient person and not demanding; I generally have low/minimal expectations with people.

I do not eat at restaurants often, but I have had incredibly long service (more than an hour) once when dining out with a friend. We complained to the manager and he gave us a gift card. Other than that, I have had long "fast food" service, in which my friends and I have waited at least 20 minutes for one order. I became impatient at that time.

On the topic of impatience and Asperger's Syndrome, I do not think it can be decided just based on food and dining out. If anything, I might guess that patience is an AS trait. At least, I think I am incredibly more patient with people than they are with me, probably due to my low processing speed.

I work at a restaurant and people become impatient if they have to wait more than 15 minutes for their food.

I would be impatient waiting that long for food, but I don't think that's the best example of impatience. I don't know anyone that wouldn't become impatient waiting that long. I would think of impatience more like someone who gets antsy waiting in the drive-through waiting for food. I answered yes to the poll, but I describe myself as a very patient person.

I'm patient.

Regarding this poll, just about every human would get impatient waiting for an hour in a restaurant, assuming they know what to usually expect in waiting times. Therefore, the 1 hour option intrinsically wont get many votes from anyone, and isn't useful for determining a pattern in aspie patience.
