Wohoo!

This afternoon, about 30mins ago I gave my two children, aged 6 and 7 the Sally-Anne test, we actually it was the Panda-Eore test using upside down cups and a 10cent coin...

They passed, they could both answer the first question correctly, and both could answer the second question...

Happiest man alive today would be me!

But will they understand the intricate secrets of the universe only an Autistic mind can tap into?

There are many That I would rather not know. Ignorance can be bliss, you know.

No, it cannot be. if ignorance was bliss, then that would justify racism partially.

Why can't we justify racism? Just look at a KKK manual and you will see justification. Much of what we see in the world is function of how we understand it. Ignorance is not the cause of racism; otherwise little babies and children would be the most racist people in the world.

But, they are the happiest. (next to drug users, who are even more blissful due to a unnatural activation of their limbic systems)

However, I do believe there are more important things in life than the "pursuit of happyness".

Like a understanding of the way the world works, the laws of Cause/Effect, etc.

I think this sort of thing depends on what you *think* that you want.

(I am not endorsing racism)

Racism is mainly dangerous when people are willing to take action on it (including not just physical but verbal action).

Otherwise, it is pathetic for the person, themselves, but harmless and mere opinion-- just as long as it stays to themselves.

But that's usually not the nature of human racism.

If you look hard enough you will find exactly what you are looking for in the world. The world is a complicated enough place for these sorts of things.

*shrugs*

Racism: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

Actually, it is correct in some ways. While it's possible for people of Asian or European decent ot be fast, it appears that Affrican peoples run faster. Since 1964 the Olympic 3000m Steeple chase has been won by Kenya. (excluding the 2 games they boycoted)

Infact Kenyans in races from 800 through to 10,000 meters, this country of only 30 million (0.5% of the Earth's population) wins about half of all the Olympic and World Championship medals for men's distance running.

I would say that they have an inherent superiority, wouldn't you? But it gets even more interesting:

Quote:
In 1990 physiologist Bengt Saltin, currently director of the Copenhagen Muscle Research Center, took part of the Swedish national track team to St. Patrick's Academy in Iten, Kenya to race the world's greatest high school track team. The local kids repeatedly trounced the champions of track-mad Sweden. Dr. Saltin estimates there are at least 500 schoolboys in the region who could beat Sweden's best man at 2,000 meters.

Based on the results achieved by the finest Kalenjin runners, Berkeley anthropologist Vincent Sarich, the co-founder of the field of genetic anthropology, statistically estimates that the average Kalenjin could outrun 90% of the rest of the human race.

This doesn't prove that they are born with superior running skills. Kenyans, from the time they're toddlers run everywhere. Just as we may have walked to school, to the store or to a friend's house, they run because they have to cross great distances to travel inbetween destinations that are often far apart.

Kenyans outrun most countries for the same reason Scandinavians do better in the winter Olympics, because winter sports are more engrained in their culture than others.

Actually the article I read, where I got the inof went into that, of 20 kenyans who had won gold medals 14 did nor run to school as the common myth goes...

It has been suiggested that kenyans run so often as a result of their better ability, it's a symptom, not the cause.

But moving on, look at sprinters, kenyans are pretty usless at short distances, West affricans and their decendants are the fastest people in sprints...

And polynisean people make awesom rugby players...

And my point was that racism has a factual base... I dont aggree with discrmination on this basis, but I do agree with praisign peoples skills etc etc...
