Who here has problems getting up in the morning?

Ive always had problems getting out of bed in the morning. Partly because i have a hard time getting to sleep at night.

But the other part Sounds really silly. At least to "neurotypicals" it does so no one understands it. Can you guys tell me if u can undersatand it and if it sounds silly to you? that way i know if its an aspie thing or just a "me" thing.

The problem is that the bed is just so comfy!! !! !! And the pillow and blanket are just so soft!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! I want to get up but my body wants to continue to feel th softness on me. Does this make sence to you at all? or am i just weird? :?

You are weird, of course, and so am I. And so is most of the world. ;)

In any case, I also have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, for the same reasons as you.

I thought that most people had trouble waking up in the morning? I do, for the same reasons you stated; the bed's too warm and comfy. Isn't that normal?

I don't think it's just an Aspie thing; I think it's a people-in-general thing.

I have that too for the same reasons. I always seem to be the last one out of bed in my family. When my mom wakes me up in the morning for school I always lay there in my bed for like 10-15 minutes before I finally get up.

I have issues falling asleep at night, I feel tired, I go to bed, but it's only a few hours later that I go sound asleep.

Because of this I have a real hard time getting up due to lack of sleep. Today isn't too bad because my shif at work starts at 10am.

What I do is put my alarm clock well out of reach, so I have to get out of bed and go to the other side of the room to turn it off. After that, it's important to just stay on your feet and keep moving so you won't sink back into bed.

Um, on Asperger tests, being a morning person is considered a positive criterion! I'm a morning person, I regularly wake up between twenty past five and twenty past six in the morning. The most likely Aspie I've met, a friend of my father, went to bed at 8 PM.

I don't think it's silly, in fact, it's quite logical. Beds and pillows are made to be comfortable. It's normal we want to remain there as long as possible. I think that a lot of people, aspies or not, have a hard time getting up in the morning. I do, and I do not have problems to sleep at night. It's just because my bed is so comfortable, that's all.

On which tests? I've taken several Asperger's tests and I don't remember that being on any of them :? But then, my memory isn't the best, so I may be wrong.

Either way though, I'm definitely not a morning person but I have a diagnosis of AS, and most of the people who have replied to this thread can relate to what the OP wrote, hence why I said it's not an Aspie thing, but a human thing.

I'm pretty much the same.
Long time to go to sleep, long time to get up.

I usually only finally get out of bed when I get hungry.

I get that too from people. Morning people suck!! !

I cherish laying in bed for a few minutes after I wake up. Actually it's the only time I feel completely happy and comfortable in bed. I toss and turn when I try to get to sleep so I never enjoy my bed at night as much as I do in the morning.

I f***ing hate having to get up from an alarm clock. Morning is my beauty rest time.

If that's silly, then I'm silly too. That's like me-to-a-T!

I totally have loads of trouble going to sleep...then once I'm asleep nothing can really wake me up. I would probably stay up until 3 or 4 each night, and then sleep for 10 or 11 hours if I didn't have to actually get up in the morning.

Yeah, I think this is fairly normal.

I'm not a morning person. I love being in bed and cuddling my plushy Tuxen. It's so soft and warm and the Tuxen are wanting to be cuddled. My motto concerning mornings is German: "Wenn Morgens früh der Wecker rasselt dann ist der ganze Tag vermasselt!" (When the alarm clock rattles early in the morning, the entire day is ruined!)

No, I don't have issues getting out of bed in the morning. Once i'm awake, I can't go back to sleep again so just end up getting ready for the day ahead.
