Tips to help feel more comfortable in public
try wearing comfortable footwear... it seems basic, but is awesome when you get a pair of shoes you love. when you find you have to stand for long periods of time, it is very good. what's wrong; do you get a little sociophobic with a bunch of people around? or, are you more agoraphobic? does it overload your senses? actually, the outside tends to be bright, so i try to bring a pair of sun glasses. sometimes, school or random grocery markets are too bright, so i wear them inside, as well. ear plugs come in handy also for the stores and restaurants. i find if i can sort of cancel out either auditory or eyesight overload, i am more comfortable.
Mp3-players block out sound and recharges me, working out gives me more energy and makes me feel good.
Working out: I'm only "capable" of working out for some months before I quit, but during those months I feel a little better.
Wash your clothes with perfume-free washing agents (I use neutral). Removes a lot of that itchiness.
Philosophize. When you spend your day working in hellishly noisy environments; try to philosophize about life, the smallness of the situation you're in and so forth. This can also be used to block out physical pain. I find that easier though. x)
