Hey everyone,
I have been reading a lot on these forums and have only posted a couple of times.
Ever since I was small I have had issues with social interactions, focusing my attention and routines. (I have a more complete list of my feelings towards scarves, round necked sweaters, food schedule etc in another thread) I wrote to the National Autistic Society (UK) and they responded with information about diagnosis.
They suggested to take an online AQ test, and see where that took me, and speak with my GP.
Now, I don't like to see my doctor at the best of times since he's always busy and I'm not sure what I'd say in a situation like this. I don't want him to just say 'Ah, don't worry about it, just carry on' because I'm currently filling in job application forms and requests for grant money for my research and I need to know if I can apply for specific grants depending on if I have a recognised disability.
Well, I took the wired AQ test (in the sticky at the top of this section) and scored a 47 I'm assuming that this is quite a high score, then took the EIQ and scored a 57 which seems a low score in this case.
Now, this has got me a bit concerned. I know that I should go to see my doctor, but on the other hand I don't want to be left there going in and 'wasting' his time. This has got me a bit upset and I could do with some advice from you guys out there.
Thanks for any support you can help me with,
AF_1
