but still get rid of your condition, would you do it?

I certainly would. I would still be the normal me and have the advantages despite I wouldn't have AS.

That sounds like you want to get rid of half the jigsaw puzzle.

The disadvantages in many, maybe even most, cases are the same thing as the advantages. They're inseparable.

Some of my personality is caused by AS so I would need tochange my personality as well, but yeah, who would want to lose skills they have?

I think you have difficulty getting the concept of "what if."

Of course it isn't possible but what if it were.

What if I could fly?

What if I could rule the world?

What if we could get rid of all the idiots?

What if there was a cure to ignorance?

Would anyone not? But like Osagasu said, the good parts and the bad parts are inseparable. You wouldn't have those good parts if you didn't have the bad - which is the same with everyone really, autistic or not. That's what makes a complete person.

People have talent naturally no matter if you are AS or a NT.... But a AS person normally has the oppituninty to work on they talents and work their way through.... :)

But to keep yourr aspie skills and the personality, to me, its seems rather impossible to do...

No I wouldn't, for a very simple reason. Everyone, whether they have AS or not, has things they wish they could change about themselves. I'm no different than anybody else in that respect. But if I changed those things, I would also be changing other things that go hand in hand. The good far outweighs the bad with my condition. If I could be anybody in the world, I would be me. You know why? Because I'm honest with myself, something most people have trouble with.

"still be the normal me"?

there comes an acceptance of ones AS and quickly followed by a realisation that
normal for AS is AS.

what else could you or anyone else expect?

Seriously, this must be the 100th topic I have seen on here that is about "what if you were not an aspie". With that being said, this particular one does not make much sense. No, I don't think that the same skills and personality in an aspie are possible in an NT.

You get rid of the aspie condition and you have an empty shell of an human being. Just another NT, what this world does not need.

..are we supposed to have special skills and a desirable personality? i don't think i have either, so i'd rather be rid of the condition altogether.

My answer is "no," I would not get rid of my AS. I am used to being the way I am, and I would have no desire to change that.
