Anybody else got this?

I guess to do up one's hair refers to using those styling gels that are so popular these days. I never do. I just try to keep my hair cut short enough that it looks fairly neat without much effort (because I couldn't care less about styles).

Depends on what you mean by "do up".

I get a haircut regularly and I comb my hair in the morning before I go out (though I keep it short enough that it's really not necessary). I certainly don't do anything more than that.

I often wear my hair in two braids and a bandanna.

I was wondering why poopylungstuffing answered a thread about males when she's female. Then I realized "guys" could mean males only or everyone.

Out of curiosity, prillix, were you thinking only of males or was this just a general inquiry?

Yeah...I meant to bring that up...what is a thread addressed to guys about whether or not they do up their hair doing in the General autism Discussion forum?....It did cross my mind...but I thought better of it after a while......

If this is indeed a thread addressed to guys...I could answer on behalf of my partner who might brush his hair...say.....maybe once every two weeks.....but he is not an aspie....

I get mad at my hair, so I try to trim it, and totally f**k it up, starts with the sideburns being uneven, then I end up with no hair, after making multiple adjustments. Its a good thing my hair grows fast, 1/2" after 2 weeks.

Ditto. Shave it off. ITs comfortable, neat and doesnt need any attention.

It's impossible to tie up my hair without all the shorter bits sticking out and looking goofy.

My father once asked why a spanish speaker addressed our group(having men and women) as senores! The word is spanish for "Ladies and gentlemen". Senoras would mean women, and senors would mean gentlemen.

Heck, even the word female has male in it, and women has men! That is just the way many languages are.

BTW for the record. I USED to use some stuff to kind of moisten my hair to get it to stay down. NOW, I use water at most, because my hair is thinner. I ONCE parted my hair, but now I really can't. All that is because my hair thinned and I am balding. Of course, a middleaged person looks different from a kid anyway.

Same here, I use a #1 guard, and cut it regularly (myself) every month or so as needed. --The $25 spent on a set of electric clippers quickly negated the expense of spending $10 at a barber every time I cut my hair.

Dunno about "doing it up", but when it's long, sometimes I'll tie it back, and/or wear a bandana.

I'll answer too.... I have never been that good with my hair and rarely put product on it. I always feel like I can't get it right, either too much gel, not enough. I usually just flat iron it.
