Obsessions That Die Hard

Does anyone else have obsessions that feel like they'll never "get old"? Obsessions that you've had for years, that have so much sentimental value to them that you can't bear to let them go? Even when you get interested in other things?

My biggest anime obsession since '06 has been two anime series: Hellsing and Trinity Blood. I know on the forums I made a big show about switching obsessions over to Utena, but the truth is that no matter how hard I try to switch obsessions to other anime, in the end I always, always, without fail, go back to being a fan of Hellsing and Trinity Blood. I'll feel amused by whatever "new" anime I'm watching for about 3 - 8 days, and then I'll start "missing" the Hellsing/Trinity Blood characters, and I pick up where I left off in my obsession with them. I guess that I should stop trying to get un-obsessed with them, and instead I should just accept myself as a truly die-hard fan, and that it's okay to take breaks every once in awhile to sample other varieties of anime (hence the reason I changed my rank to "Anime Connoisseur").

The 60s, The Kinks. It's all about Swinging London, Carnaby Street and Routemasters!

Meerkats, Lion King, zoology, veternary medicine, Titan A.E.. When I first saw Titan A.E. and noticed it was becoming a "special intrest" I began to feel quilty because I felt I was neglecting or cheating on meerkats and Lion King. Out of all my obsessions, meerkats are supreme. Anyone who tries to take them from me is just asking for trouble.

Lazytown. I can't get rid of it.
