I know these are stims but was curious what other people on the spectrum did this (I've done the pacing alot lately it's nauseating after doing it though!!) :-) Sometimes I sway and it feels like I'm going to fall over LOL!

I don't sway but I pace a lot. When I go to my parent's house I walk in circles around the table while having a conversation with them.

Is pacing really a stim (as applies to autism)? I pace when waiting or having a ciggarette, I thought most people did.

I've always paced, not so much as a stim but because it helps me process thoughts more quickly for some reason (I pace non-stop when I'm on the phone as a result  ) I feel much better pacing around a given point than I do standing in a fixed spot, although I try (with limited success) to avoid doing this in public.

I occasionally sway side to side when I'm talking with people, but again, I am conscious to avoid this whenever possible. Typically I do more of a side to side pivot move (hard to explain exactly) if I'm uncomfortable, as this makes avoiding eye contact easier.

Back in high school, my friend used to call me the "Insane Pacer Man."

I don't sway, but I rock back and forth on the balls of my feet, and I pace a lot.

I sway, rock and pace. Don't know why...

I pace, usually to organize my thoughts. Sometimes it's because I start feeling antsy if I sit for too long without having something to focus on.

I do it so much I had a co-worker tell me I was going to wear a trough in the floor.

I used to walk in circles while waiting for the swimming classes outside the pool. Other day I was at the mall waiting for a friend and I was walking in circles again... But I guess this is a normal thing...

I'm a 'pace back and forth' kind of person. My boyfriend doesn't like it when I do it as it makes him feel dizzy. If it makes him feel this I don't quite understand why he watches me, meh.

When I'm thinking, I walk around the entire house. This only works in large houses, however.

This is what I do when I'm thinking, too (especially when I get an idea). When my brother and I are both working on an idea together, we both pace all around the house while talking to each other! There's no need for us to bother with eye contact or anything like that.
