Sometimes "normal" forums are easier to post on.

I have found it is much harder to make a point on WP then on any other forum I have been on. People with AS seem less willing to except anything new then NT's on other boards. This is just my view though.

It is also very hard to write a post the way I want to on WP, since sarcasm is missed by so many, and sometimes I feel I have to "dumb down" my post to get something said so it is understood. I am afraid to post many things here because they not only could, but would be taken as attacks/trolling/insultive even though there is no malicious intent behind them.

On other boards/sites with NT's it is much easier to just joke and take it easy. People tend to get less offended in general also. You can have a conversation with some trash talking and it's ok. You don't have to and are not expected to analyze every single thing said.

I will say on NT forums I have had to defend myself allot though, as regular users on sites tend to pick you apart if you are not careful. This is generally when I join and for the first 50-100 of my posts. I used to over analyze and posts huge topics that got tl;dr as a response, now I don't unless it's meant for those I know will read it. You need a thick skin and the ability to shrug things off, as well as the ability to defend yourself from attack. It's just a different culture/mind sit. There are plenty of very intelligent/non judgmental NT's though.

I am not saying Aspies are dumb/bad/stupid at all, just that it's really a pain to have to censor myself as such and I almost feel I fit in less on WP, a site meant for those with AS/ASD then I do on TH, A site meant for general teenagers who often exhibit very stupid behavior, which is sad.

Note: I use NT forum to mean any site or forum populated mainly by non autistic's.

Why are you telling us this? No one is forcing you to use this forum. I have found it nothing but helpful. I actually feel like I am listened to on this forum whereas I am not on others.

Your right. But I like the forum and *most* of the people I have talked to on it. It just is hard to talk to others who have no way to see sarcasm. I am not saying that is their fault though.

I have also found the forum helpful, and I do feel like I am listened to in some of my threads (IE the really long ones that ask questions that may be hard to answer) and I am sometimes ignored on others.

I guess I did fail to make a point in the OP (just re-read):

The point is I wish Aspies could lighten up a little so to speak. The problem with sarcasm/post edits are mainly in forum games/random/general threads. When I am typing a thread that is serious I try to keep it as such.

It's hard to joke with people who can't understand it's a joke.

I think do good with picking up on jokes and sarcasm here. I still do my humor and I don't expect everyone to pick up on it. That's why I use emoticons like  and  and :P. But not all aspies will understand those just like I don't always understand emoticons. Just by way they are used can be confusing.

So don't joke with people who can't pick up on them.

It depends. This forum is very heavily moderated, to the point where one can't even say someone's opinion sucks  Other AS forums aren't like that. That doesn't mean they don't have their fair share of a***holes.

Why don't you leave those comments for Autism Speaks, and leave us alone, than?

Not even people who can detect sarcasm completely in person can detect sarcasm when it's used in text on the internet, it all depends on how effectively the typist expresses it. You can use sarcasm, you just have to make it obvious that you're using sarcasm (using the  smiley, or using "/sarcasm" at the end of any sarcasm infused statement).

I've found there is a completely different "vibe" on each forum I've been on in the past, but WP I've found is best as there are no in-jokes or cliquey dominant groups of members.

WrongPlanet is the best site that I've come acrossed. This site has been a great help to me. I find it easier to post here, than I do the regular sites. I will not walk off, into the mist, over threads like these.

Who is telling you to "walk off, into the mist, over threads like these"? I never said anything of the sort in any way.

CockneyRebel, people are allowed to differ in opinion you know. That's what makes the world interesting. If everyone agreed and licked each other's arse all the time, life would be boring as hell.

I despise Autism Speaks btw, however hard that is to believe  It would be nice not to lump all NTs in the same basket from time to time you know. I like Aspies. I like talking to Aspies. However, I do speak my mind when I feel like it and won't censor myself just because somebody doesn't like my opinion.

Such A Shame
By The Kinks

All the good times have all been in vain,
It's a shame, such a shame, such a shame.

It's a shame,
'Cause I didn't wanna cause you any pain,
But I know that it wouldn't be the same
All the good times have all been in vain,
It's a shame, such a shame, such a shame.

It's a shame,
'Cause I didn't intend to do you wrong,
I'd come back but it wouldn't last for long.
I would, if I could, but I can't.
It's a shame, such a shame, such a shame.

It's a shame, such a shame,
'Cause I swore I'd never let you down,
But I was the one who was doing wrong,
It's a shame, such a shame, such a shame.

'Cause I didn't intend to do you wrong,
I'd come back but it wouldn't last for long.
I would, if I could, but I can't.
It's a shame, such a shame, such a shame.

It's a shame, such a shame,
