A long time ago i seemed to have created a thread about "Is anything real"

That seemed to be talking about the present, but in this one i'd like to talk about the past.

When remembering past events does anybody else feel like they didn't "really happen"? Or in other words, for me they seem to be just very similar to my other thoughts of what "potentially" could have happened or other "imaginative" thoughts.

It makes me feel and question whether i really did something (or anything for that matter), as it "rationally" (that might not be the best word to describe this feeling) doesn't feel like i did it. It often just feels like i "thought" it.

Could this be a severe case of Theory of Mind (bearing in mind i may have just grossly misintepreted this term!!) maybe, where i not only struggle to relate myself to other people, but also my past self which doesnt seem like me?

I get this sometimes, which sucks when it's a memory of something really good. I attribute it to depersonalization.

Ah! I really get what you're talking about. It happens to me a lot too. Perhaps it just happens with everyone?

Haha sometimes I have trouble remembering if a past event really did happen or if I just dreamed it. I was seriously in my own little world back then. Not to say that I'm still not, but I paid much less attention to what was around me when I was younger so it's hard for me to recall if anything back then actually did happen.

Hmph! My creative writing teacher decided to inform me that I live in my own little world and needed a reality check. *sticks out tongue at teacher* I like my world, thanks. But I didn't tell her that cause she would have eaten me. Or sicked her rubber chicken collection on me. *meeps*

Yeah, i'm not sure. :) Its occured to me that could be the case and maybe im just explaining it differently to everybody else, and basically just saying what im literally "thinking" instead. It would be nice to know how people think and know if im actually thinking differently to everybody else, if im just intepreting it differently, or everybody thinks differently? but i guess that wont be happening anytime soon.

Thats quite interesting. From my experience i've come to the conclusion that i am very uncreative.

I remember very little of my life.
So I do not have this problem.

I also have a past self that I'm dealing with. That rebellious, spike-haired punk, who went by Sid, who became very angry towards society. All I can say, is I'm glad that I love the 60s again, like I did in 2006, and that I'm no longer that angry punker.
