I feel like my voice is really wierd. It changes a lot, sometimes it's high/feminine, sometimes it's more low, sometimes it's quite childlike. I always talk quite slowly. Sometimes I pronounce words very exactly, sometimes it's more colloquial. So yeh it's wierd. What's yours like?

I have marked mimicry skills as part of my ASD dx and presentation. I have many different speaking voices.

My voice is extremely quiet, monotonous and quite slow.

Slow, quiet, deep, monotonous, and very formal.

According to my husband, I "talk weird." This is after I asked him if he thinks I "speak oddly." While apparently my voice is not monotonous, it is sometimes grating. I know I use a number of words and phrases that don't normally occur in most people's speech. I tend to sound overly formal, for example, I address my tutees as "students" rather than "guys." I had a wonderful teacher in middle and high school who encouraged me to speak as I do, to exapand my vocabulary, and not be afraid to use "big words." One of my oldest friends still teases me about the time she observed that I used a lot of "big words," to which I replied unthinking, "Big words are one of my idiosyncracies."

A deep, masculine Cockney accent.

I have a civilized and dignified way of speaking with slight traces of northern swedish accent (which in Sweden is generally seen as the masculine/sexy accent for younger guys if it's not too heavy). My voice is neither high or low even though it sometimes sounds youthfully up-pitched with a deep male foundation. Never squeeky or geeky.

In english, I sound more flat and can jump between british and american accents because I have no real accent or even interest in speaking english properly. I focus a lot more on my japanese pronounciation and I also find japanese easier than english to get right.

My voice changes pitch several times in a sentence. I can go up and down nearly an octave. I also use my hands a lot (yes, hands count as part of speaking style for those of us who gesture very very much). In format, I use a lot of metaphors. I filter these out of my posts since they have led to some confusion. But since I think almost entirely in metaphors, I best understand those who use metaphors frequently and they are frequently found in my own speech. I get teased about this some. But other people have adopted some of the metaphors I've coined.

a bit formal and somewhat odd
Sometimes I have a boring voice but other times it can be quite animated. I also find it difficult to adjust the volume of my voice.

Sometimes I suddenly "hear" myself when I'm talking and I'm embarrassed at how monotone I can sound even if I'm talking about something I'm excited about.

That's interesting, I tend to use metaphors a lot as well, and enjoy it when I hear or read them. Even in normal speech I will often cage hidden meanings in what I say, probably just force of habit.

My voice is soft. I don't have the typical autist voice.

Usually quite deep but sometimes goes high without me realising. Almost always quiet. Formal but I sometimes use accents. When trying to speak at a normal pace, I can easily get words mixed up or parts of different words the wrong way round. Like "thedge of horns" instead of "hedge of thorns".

I speak in a loud monotone. Some people say I sound like my mom, but other people think I sound like a boy. I speak very colloquially, not really caring if I use proper grammar or pronounciation. Sometimes, though, I can't resist the urge to throw "big words" into my sentences.

I've been told it's calming, but I've also been told I sound like a cheerleader (whatever that means.)... I guess it depends who I'm with? I do know that I'm smarter than I come across, though.
