I always preview before I hit submit and I notice that it's much easier to read against the blue background. I read too well if anything and everything gets jumbled up sometimes because I read and process all of it at once whether it's in the same line or not. I find I can process better against the blue (or any light color). I also easily see typos that I miss against the white background. Does anyone know the reason for this? Don't they use color to help people with dyslexia?

When I was a teenager I was tested for dyslexia. I don't have it, but one of the tests I had to do involved placing coloured sheets of thin plastic over text and I found that I could read better with a purple or blue background. I was told that I could get coloured glasses if I wanted. I didn't get them.

I still find it easier to read against a coloured background rather than a white one. White is just too glaring. I tend to see the pattern of white space between words easier than I can see the actual words. With a coloured background I can see the words more clearly.

What you are describing is Irlen's syndrome or scotopic sensitivity. And yes I can relate. White or some other colours are too glary, but blue is very soothing to the eye.

I also find it easier to read against a coloured background.

I have the same experience. It really makes reading a chore. I thought it was my vision and I needed glasses, but my vision is fine.

Thanks :) I'm off to Google. God, I love the internet, it's the world in a box.
