Does anyone else here like or can stand jigsaw puzzles?

I love to put together jigsaw puzzles. I don't know if you could say I'm excellent at it, but it's quite enjoyable. However, they seem to give everyone else headaches. Especially how to fit small details in the pieces, and the shape.

I could never get the point of them. Being hunched over a table for hours trying to make pieces fit wasn't fun in my mind.

My mother has a nice anecdote about how I pieced together a small Escher jigsaw puzzle.
But now I do not bother or put effort in because there are other things I like to do more than jigsaw puzzles.

Sometimes I get into doing them and do loads and then other times I can't see the point. The picture has to interest me or I don't care. We got one last year that's a map of our area and I did most of it and then it just sat in the puzzle board, been there six months now, maybe more

Now that you mention it, that is something else with me, as well. It has to be a picture I like(mostly kitties, tigers, lions, any felines, or very beautiful landscapes), otherwise, I can't really do them. I also like the degree of difficulty. The more pieces it has, the more I enjoy it.

I do them on the MSNBC web site. I always do them without looking at the picture first to make it a little more interesting. I often don't know what the picture is til the end. It's a diversion. My son likes them. You're right there is no point to them, but they can be enjoyable for their own sake.

They can be a little overwhelming at first, but putting one together is quite fun once you have been working on it for awhile.

I like them. They are good for giving the brain something to focus on for a while. Kinda meditative. The picture, the quality of the material of the pieces and how well the puzzle is cut is all important. Good jigsaws have lots of distinct areas with plenty of details, so you don't have to spend hours putting in pieces by trial and error.

Jigsaw puzzles are the best in the world, in my opinion. I could do them, for hours. :)

I've only ever liked doing jigsaw puzzles online otherwise I find the pieces too fiddly to handle. Jigsaws used to be an obsession of mine but now I rarely do them because I have other things to do.

I could take them or leave them. Though at Christmas, my brother-in-law was working on a hard one that was a perfect way to escape while still appearing to be social. I thought that was a nice perk. I might like them better if they had a different texture that made the pieces more interesting to connect.

I don't like them, they are overwhelming.

My wife pretty much matches Autumnsteps on this one. Myself I am a take them or leave them alone type. We can NOT work on the same puzzle - we have diametrically opposite approaches, and in general I am not much of a team player. She sorts by color, I sort by pattern, so if we both do a puzzle it is two puzzles.

I'm not opposed to jigsaw puzzles, it's simply that I'd rather do other things.

I love jigsaw puzzle, I would prefer to sit there and figure it out alone normally and i'm apparently the fastest at solving jigsaw puzzles in my family...

I also look at the shape and the picture and try and find it in my head if it matches...

oooh... now I just want to buy myself 1000 pieces of jigsaw, I would most likely to finish that in like a day.
