How many of you find that you keep on bringing up the same subject all the time? I have a tendency to do that and it drives everyone around me crazy.

I tend to do that, when I feel that I've hurt one of my fellow WP members, or if I feel hurt, myself. I will go on and on about it, sometimes until a moderator sends me a message, not to do so, anymore. Today was one such example, after I've received a PM. Now I'm doing it, again. When I know that I've made another member cry, I start crying, myself, as well.

I do it all the time. I drive myself crazy with it and I think the reason that I do it is because I am trying to figure it out and I can't

Is it your special interests? Or do you just seem to be "stuck" on something sometimes? I do this, so If I know I have discussed something at length with someone already, I stop myself from bringing it up or I ask them if they are tired of hearing it.

I find I do this when I write blog posts. I've already explained something but will repeat it again and again. Usually, I think I do this because I've not explained something in the way I have
I don't do it face to face with people as much probably because I don't say that much. I'm not sure though. This is something I have to keep a look out for.

I remember when I read something in school about Hebrew poetry, that it repeats itself. So I adopted the word and told people 'oh sorry, I'm using Hebrew poetry again.'

I suspect it would be a common feature in ASDs. I know I do it.

It's an ASD thingy.

It's one of the predominant symptoms that others will notice in the higher functioning folk.

I do that in person too. I don't know why I repeat myself.

Wow, I missed out writing the end of that sentence. What I meant was that I repeat what I've said if I think I haven't properly explained myself.
But you got that right?

i never have jokes or interesting stories tell, nor am i good at or can be bothered with small talk. so i tend to be very quiet when i am with people. it is only when i talk about my special interests or current fads that i become talkative and enthusiastic. and yes, i often just go on and on and on....apologise for doing do then off i go again and continue with it! i am learning to be less long winded and speak less loudly though.

What I think it is is the inability to "read" that the other person understood what you said.

I just watch for the other person starting to yawn, then stop talking.

Not just about subjects but I tend to do it about anything if I get stuck like last night I got upset when my husband used a different word for a situation. He said "a lot" and last time he said "Not much" and "just a little" and then he all of a sudden changed the story . So I got stuck on it and argued with him telling him he said this before and don't lie to me. I also told him he can't change the past about what happened because it be a lie. It be like me talking about 9/11 and me deciding I was all of a sudden effected differently by it than I was when I was 16 at the time it happened. That be a lie. Then my husband thought I should be calm about all this? He lied what did he expect. I don't take games. Then he said he was just tired before and I told him he said "just a little" and "not a lot." So I finally accepted he used the wrong words because he was tired so it seemed like he was lying when he finally used the right words.

Also when things happen, bad things, I also tend to get stuck and keep talking about it. Some people, even aspies, expect me to move on when it's over or I got what I wanted.

The things that I bring up, are the things that I'm stuck on. I go on about them for a day on WP, and I go on about the things that I'm stuck on, for a week, off the Internet.
