Eh probably not a bad thing, though people have told me all my life stuff like "Nobody wants to talk about computers all the time!" and "Why do you always talk about computers?" or even told me to stop talking to them overall.
The way it seems to work for me is I have had the long term (pretty much life-time so far) interest in computers, then I'll usually have something that I'll obsess about for a few days or weeks. At the moment, it's asperger's/autism, mostly because I've been trying to figure out if I have it for the past few months. I often talk about it on IMs and stuff to people a lot, though I'm old enough to realize that people don't like to talk about something as random as autism very much if at all, so I try to keep it under control. This place has actually made it worse, because you all so openly discuss it, and I'm just used to it, now. :p
Previous interests were products that I've bought (mostly electronics) and thought were cool and would try to learn everything I could possibly learn about them, and talk about ... probably way too much, or this game called Blockland that I used to play a LOT, though now I mostly just sit idle in my server. I figure I'll get back in to it eventually but for a few months it was all I did. There was also this game creation thing called Megazeux, which was all I did in my spare time, mostly messing around in the editor, for several years (this was when I didn't have internet, so it wasn't quite as easy to get new things.). Of course, Pokemon, but who wasn't obsessed with that, right? Other than that, I'd usually get obsessed with TV shows and movies and video games I liked at the time, but I guess that's common for children? People did occasionally complain about it to me, though, looking back.
