I love the rain, its feel, its sound, its texture, its wetness.. the fact the sky is a murky grey and htat no one is around...it's so peaceful. My mum told me i was weird because i lay crouched in the foetal posistion for half an hour outside in the rain today just feeling it....really feeling it you know. Her saying this to me upset me :(.

But given im having a really hard time (suicide options, self loathing, low self esteem) rain really helps me and is one of the only things keeping me going that and my love of organised crime and nature and walking and art :). Oh and history. Is this odd?

I don't know if its odd-- but I absolutley love sitting alone outside in the rain. It is one of the most peaceful things. My bf and I will even go around walking in it-- but not saying a word-- just being together and feeling it. Try not to be too upset. Anything that people don't understand is considered "weird" to them.

I love the rain. I love the wetness, texture, the cold temperature, the looks of it, and the sound that it makes, when it hits the ground. I like how it beats against the window, when I'm all tucked up in bed. I also like it, when it's raining, late at night, and I don't have to work, the next morning, and I can see the reflection of the street lights, on the wet street. I can look at that, for an hour, off and on. :)

As Eric Clapton sang:

"Let it rain, let it rain--
Let your rain rain down on me."

(Okay, so that isn't exactly what he sang, but  to anyone who has issues with it!)

:D

Come live in Oregon. It rains a lot except for in the summer.

I don't mind the rain, I just don't like being in it.

My Father used to sit in the rain and enjoy watching it.
I did too.

Also, there is something appealing about it to some people.
I have heard women talking about "the rain scene" in "9 and a half weeks",
a movie from the 1980s, as something appealing to them.
I saw it once but don't remember because it wasn't what I imagined.

I have a vinyl record called
Environments
Music Of The Future
Gentle Rain In a Pine Forest

It is very relaxing to close my eyes and listen to it.
No Music, just a sonic panorama of misty little raindrops falling on Christmas trees,
and some birds tweeting in the distance.
A similar sound can be made by adjusting the
tone/bass/treble or equalizer on a FM radio
on any frequency with no station on it, if the radio receives noise.

I don't find that odd at all. I find standing in a torrential downpour very soothing, as if it were a way of bonding with natural forces - in primitive tribal societies they would think one was weird if you didn't grasp that concept. But then I also enjoy hugging trees and feel that they're alive and conscious and a lot of folks would think I required medication for that. Joke 'em if they can't take a ...

The smell is the best bit!
I do like the rain. Not heavy rain. I once got caught in a lightning storm and had to find shelter near a video store. Worse moments of my life. Was inches from being hit by lightning too.
But watching rain and smelling it is a great calming feeling.
I used to jump in puddles when it rained. I'd come inside sopping wet and given weird looks.

I don't think it's odd. I love the sound, smell, & sight of rain & autumn type weather is the best thing in the world to me. It soothes my soul.

Well, I must be odd too then! :D

When I was 3 I used to talk to the rain as it splattered against my windows, such a tickly, pleasant sound, I loved listening to the rain, the sound it makes when it rains at night and the rain makes places echo, you can almost see the spaces it's falling in from the sounds it produces....so soothing.....

Did you know that the smell you get after the rain comes from a type of spore which is literally found everywhere?!
