Did any one read it? For example the agressive tendencies he describes were quite tipical for me when i where in the same age as the described children. Strangely the fewest Aspies refer to them here on the fora....

The german Version: Asperger

Probably because it is outdated. Hans Asperger's is a roll model of how doctor should be, someone who is capable of using deductive skill, not just doing medicine out of a book. However his observations weren't perfect, and they were observations not definitive. He never came up with something called Asperger's syndrome he talked of something called autistic sociopathy. I believe if he had the information we have know he wouldn't have made a special case in ASD. The distinction of Asperger's in ASD is an arbitrary one.

Read Hans Asperger's observations for historical reasons. It was psychiatry that misappropriated his work and he wasn't even one

He actually called it "autism" at first, in reference to "autism" in Schizophrenia; he saw that it was exactly the same, barring the hallucinations and/or delusions. "Autistic Psychopathy" was his own little name, which just means autistic/autism personality disorder.

I don't like it, as it reads more like a fictional piece than a piece of medical literature. It's rife with speculation and assumptions (you have to roll your eyes at the bit where he speculates people with this disorder invented space ships...).

I have looked into once but I must agree more doctors should be like him, be more interested in knowing the nature of a person than just throwing pills at them.

he didn't really sample girls. not that girls cannot be aggressive but are perhaps less likely to be.

The original paper was translated into English by Lorna Wing. There must be a pdf file somewhere that should be made publicly available. Maybe if you kept this thread alive long enough one of the many researchers who frequent this board might just post the it.
