I've noticed that sometimes, a few minor interests lose their appeal and I just can't go back to them. It's like I 'have' to 'move on' and I cannot reacquire the interest no matter what. Anyone else have this happen? This does not happen with my major interests.

It's perfectly normal.

And BTW, 'normal' people have 'major interests' too.

All of my interests have been replaced by others.
It causes me to have a sort of wide knowledge of everything.
I would however rather be a master of one trade than a jack of all trades.

Yes. Easy come, easy go with that kind of stuff. I just have to hope I don't spend too much money on them.

I find that I'm able to retain a lot of my interests for a long period of time. I have lost a couple interests in the past (such as acting), but for the most part it's pretty hard for me to lose an interest.

Some go, some stay, some go then come back others I don't really miss. My major ones have been pretty much the same for a while now though.

My first career was a major obsession, tied in with another major obsessive interest...after many years the industry infrastructure surrounding that career began to evolve, until it finally lost all appeal. I can't even imagine myself in that career anymore, because it's not the same job that I used to love. I miss it, but I miss what it was, not what it is now, I'd never go back to that...I know another Aspie in the same industry who had virtually the same experience with it...

i have 2 core interests and the rest come and go. they sometimes last for 1 week or 2, or a few months. i often lose interest when i've found out as much as i possibly could at that particular point.
