I am NT and my friend has Asperger's and he does some peculiar things that I have noticed. When we hang out in his room he always looks at clips of anime fanfiction even when he knows I am not interested. If he is embroiled in a subject such as the environment he will watch his computer screen obsessively, when I ask him about something else he doesn't even respond. When I was at his birthday party he played Final Fantasy VII, and me and his other friends in his room just watch him play. He got annoyed if people weren't watching. What does everyone think?

From what I have read here it sounds like you are right. They can't seem to tell when someone is bored with what they are talking about or doing.

I'm NT too and my autistic son is obsessed with our local bus service. I ended up walking away from him a few minutes ago to save my own sanity. There is only so much 'bus talk' I can handle and I know there will be lots more later.

Try asking your friend for his opinion on different aspects of the game, ask him questions. Find a 2 player game you both enjoy so you don't get bored.

Sounds like fairly typical AS behavior, but of course no one could say if he actually has AS or not without more information.

Sounds a bit like me sometimes when I was a teen. Totally wrapped up in listening to records on the old record player whilst other discussed things and interacted.

Sounds like something I did with Benny & Joon, 101 Dalmatians, Jurassic Park, and Home Alone except I stared at the movie cases since I didn't have any pictures from the movie. We didn't have internet then nor did I have any of the movie merchandise except for the Home Alone 2 fun pad. But I did enjoy the movie storybook in my classroom until the book got lost and my mother told my teacher to not bother trying to find it because all the kids are tired of my talk about it and me being goofy.

I'm with Butch. Sounds like AS but you can't tell from just this one trait.
