Does anyone else get words or phrases stuck in their head? All day yesterday I had this word going round and round my head and I couldn't get it to stop. Thankfully I can't remember what it was. I'm free today, no words are stuck.

Yeah, but with with me it's usually music.

Oh yeah... bow bow....ticka ticka... pops in every now and then and I have a devil of a time getting rid of it! (I really don't care for that song.) Have to listen to something else that's "stronger" to get rid of it.

I've had this voice in my head, for the past 16 years, telling me, "Shelby (my real name)...you are a Kink." The thing that brought that on, was that three of the men who were in my college course were talking about women, sex and beer. Thinking that I was being funny, I said, "Ooh...kinky." One of the guys got mildly annoyed and said, "Shelby...you are a Kink." Some days, I hear it and some days, I don't. That voice was silent for two years, from 2007 to 2009, but I'm hearing it again, and that's a good thing.

I often find myself replaying conversations after they happen.

i'm not sure how that could NOT stick in someone's head. :D

yes. things have stuck in my head from time to time. seems to go hand in hand with "talking to myself" at times. random things pop out that i've heard here and there. "a pair of odd ducks," is the latest.

Yeah, but it is usually music and my obsessions that get stuck in my head.

If it goes on and on and on, it starts to get pretty catchy, if you get what I mean...

Today I have the name alexander solzhenitsyn stuck in my head. I keep repeating it and repeating it and I don't know why. I don't even know how to pronounce it properly. I don't even know if I have heard his name recently or it has just popped into my mind today as though a synapses has short ciruited.

I often get this with a single line from a song, which goes though my head over and over. Annoyingly it is usually a song I don't know all the words to, and I can't finish the song off mentally, so get stuck in a loop

There's a German word for a song that gets stuck in your head: Ohrwurm (literally, ear worm). Despite the fact that it's also the word for earwigs, it's my new favourite word because I constantly get songs, or parts of songs, stuck in my head.
