For several years now I had thought I had tinnitus. After some very detailed experimenting today, though, I determined the high frequency sounds I've been hearing are not tinnitus. I'm hearing two things: either my own electronics (laptop always on) or fluorescent lights (in my office and the hallways).

This really is fantastic news for me.

You ever have any acoustic trauma or infections/ear problems that could cause tinnitus?

If no, you're probably right.

That's great! :D

I have tinnitus and can hear the high pitched electronic noise. It's not so much fun.

I hear the ocean in one ear. Sometimes I can hear a faint ringing. Tinnitus is pretty pants, but I'm less social because of it. Can't hear people over the whooshing sound, even if they yell.
