Every time I experience unexpected touch from a person touching me or from bumping into a doorknob or being tickled or, basically, any time something comes into contact with me unexpectedly I say "Ow!" or "Ouch!", even if it doesn't hurt at all. It's reflexive and instantaneous.

Could this stem from Asperger's somehow, maybe some odd kind of perseveration, or is it just a random weird trait?

I don't know, but I do the same thing. When I worked in a factory and had to wear steel-toed boots, I would still say "ow" if I kicked a door or something. Just the noise and knowing the general location of my foot was enough to elicit my "ow" reflex.

I do this as well, but only when it doesn't hurt, just sort of an acknowledgment.. If it actually does hurt, I tend to just grimace, I don't get vocal (I believe it is learned suppression because my words of choice would be swears and not usually fit for the company I am often around).

I do that too. Huh. Not sure why or what the connection to AS is. I am now curious about this as well. Glad to know I'm not the only one :)

If something rilly does hurt I emit a shrill, short "aaa!"
and then punch whatever hurt me, the wall, the stupid table leg,
one time I got so mad I grabbed a hammer and busted
the doornob off because it hit me.

I have since put rubber pads on most corners
and dager points around here to avoide getting
gouged and lsasserated by stupid corners legs and nobs.

I do this, too.

I punch whatever hurts me, too. I don't have a proper bed at my apt. at uni, and one night a couple of months ago I went to lie down on my mattress and I rapped my head against the wall. I had had a really bad day and was on my last nerve to begin with, so I punched the wall and nearly broke my hand. I had to wear a wrist splint for two weeks. I also punched the refrigerator last week with the same hand because I hit my head on the freezer door. At home, I punch the cabinet doors a lot.

I wish I could control this, but by the time I have time to think about my actions, the deed is done.

Same Here! I wish I cood find the dang
control nob, but it is either missing, broken off
or it does not exist, I just do not know.

Don't I know this feeling.

I wonder, if some poopyface stranger
is mean to you, do you have the uncontrolable
"Blow a razzberrie" at them or make a fart
noise at them? This is another thing I cannot
find the control nob for.

Once again I can relate 100%. People are always extremely confused about why I'd say "ow" when somebody just touches me, and they often accuse me of trying to be funny or something. I swear I'm about as official as a self-diagnosis can possibly get. No matter how random or obscure the trait, I've got it.

I also hit things that hurt me, sometimes with expensive consequences...

I've done the same thing, all my life.

My parents were always like "Ow!? Come on, that did not hurt."

And I have to explain to people that it's just some weird habit reaction I have, and that if something actually does hurt, I'll go "Aaaahhhhh..." at differing levels of volume.

I go ow, when people piss me off. That's a whole different topic, all together. If you've seen 'My Fair Lady', you'll know what I mean.

I do the same thing, and my parents respond in the same way. I wonder if it is an Aspie thing then?

I tend to say "ouch" every time I drop something, or make any other clumsy mistake. I learned to not make any noise when I'm hurt from living with various animals. They tend to take it as positive feedback if you squeal after being bitten.

I say sorry to inanimate objects too- its silly but at least I am polite. And I also say "ow" sometimes at an unexpected contact. I just chalk it up to habit or something.
