That is the title of a four-part documentary series to be shown on Channel 4 in the UK starting on Monday 12 April at 8pm. See http://www.channel4.com/programmes/youn ... tagestruck .

Quote:
This landmark series follows nine autistic youngsters as they attempt to produce their very own stage show, under the guidance of theatre professionals who've never worked with an autistic cast before.

There are ten people in the picture on that page.

Here is a guide to the first episode: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/youn ... /episode-1 . "The first episode of the series introduces the firat five youngsters": Ben, Andrew, Claire, Mollie and Jozsef.

Here is a description of the project on the webite of the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, which played a major part in delivering it: http://www.lyric.co.uk/p721.html . The final performance of the group - Adventures Inside - was presented at the Lyric on 18 November 2009.

Well, I saw it earlier and it's a hell of a lot more balanced and realistic than their previous attempt at dealing with autism, "Only Human: Make Me Normal". I really enjoyed it. I thought that Andrew was especially delightful. It makes me feel nostalgic, actually, as it reminds me of my own childhood spent with my peers at the autism unit at school and with the art/film classes I took with other autistic people.

I absolutely hated Make Me Normal, I felt like I was watching Autism Speaks propaganda or something.

This one was very good though! They had people from different places in the spectrum so it's balanced and I really like how it focused on what we can do as opposed to what a tragady autism apparently is.

I hope this is the future for Autism awareness, being "Let's try to understand what they can do, for themselves and for us" as oppose to the usual "They have Autism, oh dear" false approach.

Ok well some people don't like having Autism and it can be difficult to deal with to the extent of occasionaly messing things up, but it's not always going to do that - sometimes it helps to great extents, and we must cherish this.

We should become one with our positive traits, although we're obviously not perfect as no one is, so we will make mistakes, but mistakes aren't sould destroying - they're only there to help people overcome said mistakes, and you can take your time on this.

:)

I wish you all good health.

Channel 4 said on their site they are having technical problems with getting it onto 4OD, but it will be on shortly.
