Any of you notice on the spectrum more serious and blah than the average person? I notice I am.

I'm a really serious person. I wish I could be sillier and more excitable, but it's just not "in" me to be that way.

I know I am.

I'm about as dour, austere and humorless ( in any conventional sense whatsoever) as the Saurman character in the Lord of The Rings.

It's one aspect of myself that actually doesn't bother me though. It feels as natural to me as eating and I don't care what other people think of it. Things which most people seem to find funny or otherwise amusing just seem empty, boring, redundant and predictable to me.

I find that I'm one of the more serious people, out of my circle of friends.

I despise acting silly, and it makes me uncomfortable to be around people who are being that way (see the "Worst day of the year" thread I posted earlier today for an example). I've always been a pretty serious person, and it doesn't bother me at all, as I have no desire to be jocular or bubbly. I think my unexciting nature is compounded by my standard facial expression, which looks really angry or sad. I think it makes observers assume that I'm the grumpy sort of serious person, rather than just someone who dislikes silliness.

I love that I can come to WP and find other people who understand things like this. :)

I tend to be pretty serious a lot but I can still be funny. I have a very dry sense of humor.

What is blah?

I often take things/situations too seriously, because I don't know what's going on. So I ask myself WTF?! and become more starchy instead to have fun with others.

I remember a day when we had the classes at school. Everybody had to say a thing they like in other one. One boy said: What I like in Valoy? Ofc her sense of humor! and all class rotfled. I understood why some years later. I thought he said it seriously.
Because I have sense of humor, but people often don't understand, so I'm thought starchy, boring and pervert.

Other:
People don't care so much about work. They do sth to be done. I'm this type who says Well done isn't enough, I must be excellent!* People from school fear of my presentations, because they're pretty but long, detailed, heavy and boring.

When I go to doctor and I have f.e. bloodtests, I have to be perfect. If I'm not, I can be very disappointed, cry or get Autie-attack (I think it works in the same way like NOOOOO! You moved my things 1 cm left! Whyyyyyy????! ).
I remember when one teacher checked our bodies (height, weight, fat, water etc.) and she tried to calm me down saying It's only for statistics.

* Sometimes I give up, because I don't have any idea how to make it better than the best. Lucky me, if I get this idea before the deadline.

I'm serious, but mainly because I find things are more fun when I am. I'm not actually a very serious person.

Not that I don't freak out a bit whenever I'm late for anything or don't perform to specifications.

I think I only look serious because of my glasses. I'm very fun loving and joke, tease and mock all the time while talking to people I know well. I think I got that aspect from my mom. She and her friends joke so much it can make me feel sick. I'm glad I only got about 1/4 of her joking abilities. My dad amd brother (both Aspies) look serious and are actually serious.

Nope. I'm as my teacher said Extrovert and can get REALLY into my College work and LOVED learning Psychology!! ! I looked at school with a fun laid back attitude so IMO students didn't TAKE me seriously *walks in next day with completed research paper* WTH! I DO take class seriously WHEN I GET HOME I FOCUS ON THE CLASS WORK!! !! ! While "you" (NT's/others) socialize/hang out etc. I AM DOING THE WORK! AND PUTTING A SERIOUS TONE TO IT AND AM LOVING GETTING INTO RESEARCHING STUFF ETC. :-)

I think my demeanor comes across as very serious. But I don't see myself as a "serious" person. :?

I am "serious" in one sense. But I can not stand NT's who are so "normal" I enjoy being weird and like to embrace that by, well, being weird.

I'm not very serious. I make a lot of jokes, I can't help it. My forum personality seems serious, at least to me. I'm nothing like it though! It can be a problem, because sometimes people don't know if I'm serious or not. My brother is like this too, although he is much more prone to get loud with it than I am.

Blah doesn't really have a meaning to it. It is just a general word to indicate "something", but not anything specific. For example, if somebody keeps talking your ear off, you might think, "Blah blah blah, why don't they just shut up?" The blah referring to their constant talking.

Blah is sometimes used as a general blandness towards an idea.

I just now looked it up on Wikipedia after typing this description to see if maybe they do a better job. Here is the link: blah

Yes, I'm very serious a lot of the time. It makes it tough getting along with others my age, but most people older than me seem to find my serious, dry, and somewhat annoyed default personality to be funny and likeable, so thankfully a lot of times during school with teachers, as well as most times that involve adults, I can quickly be accepted, liked, and given slack where they would be more harsh and unfond of others my age that outwardly display their silly, somewhat obnoxious nature.

I'm the opposite, I just can't be serious unless someone really put me in a really bad mood.
