I have this really annoying eye blinking tic. Anxiety is what triggers it. Could it be Tourettes, or is it just anxiety?

Tourette's requires at least two vocal and one motor tic to be present before 18 years of age. You can have isolated tics without having full-blown Tourette's.

I think its quite common with someone on the spectrum, have you seen "The Autistic Me" one of them has quite twitchy eyes.
My dad does it aswell but he does it with his eyebrows and I just find them pretty distracting...

Yes, I have seen The Autistic Me and I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm just getting around to watching the One Year On part. I thought it was very informative and interesting.

Son has it.

Blinks, clamps down on teeth, when he gets a cold he clears his throat for about a month after. When he plays video games he looks like he is trying to push the triangle, circle, square, x button through to the back side.

Magnesium and melatonin seems to help some. But think it might just come and go as he is growing.

Anxiaety is bad for tics, and part of the cycle if you are ashamed of it.

Tourette's Syndrome is one of a wide range of tic disorders.

SuperTrouper is essentially correct, except that the numbers are backwards. A diagnosis of Tourette must identify multiple motor tics and at least one phonic tic, which must be present for a period of more than one year. Age is not a diagnostic criterion--although most people with Tourette are diagnosed in childhood, and presentations generally abate after adolescence, a diagnosis is not contraindicated by identification of the tics in an adult.

That's what happens when I don't pay attention. Sorry, guys. I hate misinforming people. I do know the correct information, I was just spacey, as usual.

Getting more sleep stops my eye from twitching. It's also related to anxiety I believe. Try to relax and get more sleep.

I average 8 1/2 - 9 hours of sleep. So I know that isn't the problem.
