Drive Clean topic

Drive carefully, as I always tell my son when I see him leave the house. :)

Not only do I drive a car but I can drive anything that does not have a trailer attached to it.

Congratulations! That is always a big milestone.

I got my first license when I was 16. I really loved to drive back then, but now I try to avoid it as much as possible. There is a lot more traffic these days. There are also a lot of old people down here where I live and they tend to be quite dangerous to other drivers. I have found that its best to drive with a bit of paranoia that all other drivers are out to to get you.

I drive, but I can't say I ever enjoy it. Some aspect of social anxiety seems to come through while on the road, in that I frequently worry about going too slow for other drivers, getting in their way somehow, or violating some type of driving etiquette I wasn't aware of. Seeing another car advancing in my rear view mirror always makes me at least a little bit uncomfortable. I'm much happier on those rare occasions where I have the road to myself, and tend to drive better in those cases too.

i love to drive :)
just not super-long distances.
like driving on the highway for 3 hours straight gets dull & boring.

You sound like me when I first started driving. One time I was going along and realized that I missed my turn. I instinctively slowed down a bit as I was planning to turn around. Meanwhile, this other guy started tailgating me because I was going slower. I sped up and then he sped up right behind me. Finally I freaked and did a U-turn at 60 mph! Needless to say, he was not amused Fortunately, there was no accident. And I successfully completed a really cool U-turn.

The bottom line is that you should NEVER pay attention to what cars are doing behind you unless you are trying to change lanes.

PS: When I did my 60 MPH U-turn, I was driving a rear wheel drive sports car. I strongly recommend against that if you are driving an SUV. Can you spell R-O-L-L-O-V-E-R?

I f-ing love driving.

Sometimes I wished I had chosen truck driving as a profession.

When I moved from Philadelphia to Austin, It took me 3 days and I did some 12 hours stretches without break.

When driving, I can think clearer than anytime else especially on the open highway and the radio on. I think it has to do with the feeling of the road under my car.

I like driving on roads like non-Interstate Highways better than driving on the Interstates, because the non-Interstate highways aren't as busy and they are less boring, because the road changes so much over the driving length.

Gratz on your drivers license!

I've been driving since I was 16. I enjoy it. The longest stretch I spent in a car was 18 hours strait taking the long way from Seattle to Reno/Fallon,Nevada. I did it by myself and, boy was I tired when I got to my destination.

My best advice to new drivers is to always give yourself plenty of time to get to where your going. Never put yourself into a situation where you have to speed excessively to get somewhere on time.

I mostly just like driving through the local areas. The backroads, navigating the cities and suburbs, etc.
after 50 miles on the highway it's gets so dull that my driving switches over onto autopilot and i drive like a zombie. Albeit a safe-driving zombie just to clarify 8)

me tooo. Plus I have observance and spacial awareness issues in everyday life which make me unsure about my ability to drive and i worry that i'll do something really wrong and stupid. I haven't driven for ages but I'm thinking about taking some refresher lessons to boost my confidence

I've been driving for 5 years with no accidents so I feel I'm pretty good. With my GPS, I can drive anywhere, without it, not so much.

I drove from Albany NY to home on US Route 20 and I had to face heavy rain, heavy fog, and wide farm equipment. I liked driving on 20 under those conditions because the road forces you to slow down. People would go 70 though heavy fog on the thruway and I had to drive 40 on route 20 and the high parts of the thruway would get really foggy.
