It's ironic, I think because the only way I've found that coworkers will really listen to me is when I point out reasons why they are all upset. And I have to admit, I am very frustrated with work right now, and have done a lot of complaining+solution finding+more frustration since no viable solutions have been implemented. It is not office politics, though, I don't think. When I hear "office politics" I think of power struggles and he said/she said kind if things.
My complaining is more of a voicing of deep seated frustration and resentment about the foolish, destructive way the store (and company) is being run in its search for the almighty bottom dollar. Plus, I think my work is the perfect example of the Jeeves Principle, or how in most large organizations the really intelligent people end up as subordinates while the blandly charismatic, effortlessly slender, excessively well-groomed ones end up as top dogs.
But I guess that is not what this is really about, huh? As a rule, I leave everything like gossip well enough alone...it's safer, less confusing, and far less aggravating.
