Yeah I know what you mean going into a trance looking at these kinda things. Especially when the rooms dark. Plasma balls are pretty cool too and they get cheaper all the time. I'm gonna get myself a UV light one of these days and put a layer of transparent flourescent paint on the walls. I think staring at coloured lights releases endorphins in my brain. Take a look at this

comb jellyfish they're called. If any of you haven't seen BBC's deep blue I recommend watching it. Heres a few clips

In Taiwan scientists genetically modified the pig genome and implemented bioluminescent jelly fish genes into it. It would be fairly cool if we can implement some bioluminescence into the human genome in the future.

Well my ukulele is a big one...I mean..my collection of them..usually I drag my fluke around with me everywhere..if just to have it with me..and blank notebooks/paper for doodling/writing...I have always been hypergraphic and writing/doodling is a major stim...I sing alot and get frustrated when asked not to..

I tend to feel trapped in public places like restaurants...and have to find things to do. The mention of lava lamps reminds me of this strange old-fashioned cafeteria where I'd go with my family as a child.....It had lava lamps for me to stare at, and also I would go and watch this window where one could see the old trays of food that would roll down a conveyor belt to the dish area...They also had photographic wallpaper that looked like a forest on one entire wall...I was well-entertained...even though the food was lousy with the exception of the twice-baked potatoes....

Three things I can stare at for hours.....Fish in an aquarium, a calm lake, and a lava lamp.

I had a consultation (along with my colleagues) with a psychologist who specialises in sensory processing issues, and she said I should get goldfish and a lava lamp. I didn't get the goldfish because I didn't want the stress of worrying about them, but I did get the lava lamp, and I love it.

She also said I should get a brush for my body and I did that too, and it helps, but I don't know where it is now. She explained that the sense of touch is the only sense which makes all the other senses work properly again when they get out of whack. I need to be squeezed when I have a sensory shutdown or meltdown sometimes.

In addition to the three things I mentioned before: a fire in a fireplace.

I love that blue ball machine! I made it my computer background when I first discovered it but I had to change it because I never got anything done.

I like playing with my Tangle and watching all the different ways it can move. Especially since I joined two together so now it's shiny, rainbow coloured, and fuzzy.

I always wanted a lava lamp. My friend had one when I was younger but she would never turn it on for me because I would just stare at it and pay no attention to her.

Did she say why?

This makes me think of Grandin's squeeze machine, and being wrapped tightly in things. Can you elaborate on how the sense of touch gets the other senses working properly again?
