I was thinking about that autism joke from. The Nostalgia critic and thought "man, that sucked!" but not because it was offensive It was because it was absolutely lazy. There are loads of things about autism that is freaking hilarious. Sure, stereotypes can be hurtful, but there are something about the way I am that is kind of funny. For instance, I monologue like crazy and don't realise that people are getting bored or I'll go into an insane amount of detail about something when the situation is actually quite simple. I mean, sure, it can get into bother, but it's sort of funny. That doesn't mean that my idiosyncracies are inherently bad. Although the whole thing about autistic people being endearingly funny is also kind of patronising, there's no way of avoiding it and as long as it's not set out to completely dehumanise people, then I'm sure that we can still have a laugh at autism from time to time

Okay, here's what I feel is a good autism-related joke : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9Y7p09S8a0

Here's another autism joke that is funny: http://www.youtube.com/user/FoxSearchli ... rixFbVMZRI

Okay, I've never seen Adam, but honestly, I thought that was funny becauseI totally do that all the time.

Also, I know that they don't explicitly say that Moss from the "IT Crowd" has AS, I still think his bits would be great autism jokes:

Aspie Moral outrage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCfJvaB7e8s

Humour about special interest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiRxkFWb_3o

Bad at lying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H02hQOKn3w

Can anyone else find autism related humour that actually had something to do with autism?

'The Big Bang Theory' has a lot of good autism-related jokes. Sheldon is hilarious.

I don't see it either. I think he's asexual.

Oh god, the actress talking about how funny Adam made me uncomfortable - I kept waiting for the joke...I'm exactly like him. No wonder I have no friends. It's weird to see it from an NT perspective. omg. I've just had a major realization. This is how they see us? whoa.

The one from ADAM hit me too close to home as well. I had a similar realization after an answer in the NT/AS hotline, It was unpleasant.

Yeah, it makes me want to talk to people even less than I did before. :(

It's ok, though, your videos really made me laugh.

I didn't get them. Plus I find it offensive when people try to make jokes about my disability.

Yeah, disabilities can make me a little stiff at times. Makes me glad I don't have one.

Look Me In The Eye by John Elder Robison. Golden example of how hilarious life with autism is. :P

Just love the IT Crowd, I'm like Roy and Moss combined. I'm not easily offended by jokes, if I'm aware it is indeed a joke.

I can make fun of my own awkwardness, although not everyone understands my jokes :? , which makes the whole situation more awkward.

Haha I like the family guy one.
I do like autism related jokes and humour, it can be in my opinion a funny condition to have. Some of the things we say.
I have never been offended by a joke about AS, or a satirical article or video. Even the AS article and references in ED make me laugh. I like the ass burger jokes and all the nick names like "ass pie" that are often used on the internet. My favourites are the uncyclopedia articles, especially the "asparagus syndrome" one and I laughed my arse off at that one.

It annoys me when people get all offended and complain (for example the nostalgia critic thing) and it pisses me off that people are still going apeshit over the ED thing and trying to get rid of it, also the AS article has made it to the top 16 articles of the site. I have a feeling that the people that wrote it and voted for it to be in the top 16 probably have AS themselves and are making light of their situation. Which I think everybody should do, instead of being serious about it all.

I'll disagree with most of the posters. I found the Adam scene pretty funny, because it was most like ME... and I laugh at myself often; if I didn't, my life would just be sad and I would not be alive today.

When I catch myself going on and on about one of my pet topics, I will stop and say, "You know, I will keep on going for hours unless you slap me or something!"

Or just lay off talking about your obsessions or special interests. Or maybe limit to how much you can say about it so you don't come off that way.

Oh my god, I was in that situation (ball at feet, NT men calling for it's return) a few days ago. I didn't make quite as much of a balls up of it as they did, but I returned it in such an embarrassingly inept way.

Never go to the park.
