I have a question for all of you:

I'm obsessed with cartoons in general. I know alot of people with Aspergers have one, maybe two, extremely focused interests. This is true for me, I feel.
But, for me, my subject interests tend to change - but, they stay in the relm of cartoons and animation. For example, a couple of weeks ago, I was obsessed with Chowder. Now I'm heavily into VeggieTales (again); to the point where I downloaded some of the soundtracks, and memorized most of the songs within a week. I, also, went in to dig up information on how Big Idea (the company which created the series) fell. I would probably have more information on how the company and series came to be if I didn't have to buy a book on it.

Anyway, my question is: For people with Aspergers, do their subjects ever change like mine do? Mine, though focused on one general subject, tend to change between a couple of weeks to a month or two. Is this normal?

Happens to me. Currently my special interest is playing music and socialising with a small group of people, and it's wiped out almost everything else but the bare essentials. Before that it was digitising my entire collection of cassette tapes. It all falls under the same heading - music - but the difference is huge.

Mine flit a lot depending on my mood & interest at the time. But I'm always deeply engrossed in whatever my focus(es) are at the time. (Due to the way I grew up I've learned how to multi-task & work with multiple interests.)

Yeah. At school I was mad keen on the space program even to the point of my nickname being 'spaceman' but after the moonshots ended I switched to electronics and computers. At least it was easier to make a living in electronics because the UK space program is kinda small.

Do you watch Ren and Stimpy? Brilliant cartoon that is. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is pretty funny. Rockos Modern Life is a good one too. I watch Spongebob Squarepants sometimes when I'm stoned but I don't like it when I'm sober for some reason.

@ SeaMonkey: Yes, I love all of those shows! My room is decked out in Spongebob stuff, I own a couple of boxsets of Ren And Stimpy, and... well, I don't have anything for Rocko. But Joe Murray, John K. and Stephen Hillenburg are all geniuses, though.
Though, I have to say that I prefer Camp Lazlo over Rocko.

To the rest of the people who replied, thank you for giving me your imput. I feel better now knowing that my main interest(s) can change. (:

I was watching Cat Dog, one morning, about a decade ago, and I found that it was a very funny cartoon.
