Does anyone else here dislike Summer and its barrage of sun? I do very much so.

I prefer night, rainy days, fog and Fall and Winter. :D Everything about Summer drains me and annoys my senses.

I pray for October.

I am very visual and everything seems bleached out in the Summer and yes the heat and humidity are oppressive. I like the seasons where things are changing and the temperature is mild and breezy.

I agree with both of your points. It doesn't help that I get nauseous during warm summers.

I don't like summer either. Too hot and humid and I don't sleep well even with AC.

Hell is definitely good word for summer and sunlight :D

I like summer because I don't like many clothes on me. I like also warm water in the sea.

I live close to the sea... so we have many tourists during summer holidays. I hate these crowds, they're loud and stinky. I hate smell of ice creams, waffels and sunfilters.
I live close to the sea... but I don't go to the beach, because of crowds and too much sun. I go only when it's cloudy day or on the evenings.
I hate summer, because I'm sensitive to light - eyes and skin. I'm always hot, so I swear quickly, when it's more than 20 C.

I think the best are summer cloudy and rainy days. It's still warm enough to wear light clothes, people stay at home. I take an umbrella and I have a big fun :D

Fall is my favorite season too, don't like rain though. Yeah, summer days are pretty obnoxious to me honestly. There is too much sun, too many people outside, I just feel way too conspicuous and I don't even like to go out.

I do like summer nights though. Love being able to stay out into the wee hours and feel that sort of calmness...I guess.

Summer nights are great! I love them!

I love the sea during storm. I love the wind.

I've always detested sunlight about as much as Dracula.

And I live in Florida.

It's even worse when i'm depressed....being in the sun is like Chinese water torture
for me.

I have enjoyed participating in outdoor activities over the years too.

But even when i've been scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, rafting, etc.....I avoid the
sun as much as possible.

Heat itself doesn't bother me as much unless i'm doing something really
strenuous in the heat.

I also hate the summer. I find myself indoors, with my air conditioner on, and with my music playing. I can't be in the sun and the heat. It bothers me that much. I get really excited, when I see the first heavy rainfall, after a long, hot, bright summer.

Okay so I'm maybe the black sheep here :P I ADORE the summer, it's the only time I'm really jovial, a nice hot sunny summer down at the local gardens with a smooth jazz band playing and everyone in an awesome mood. Summer FTW <3. Also I'm in love with idea of summer nights spent under a purple twilight.

However during winter I get really miserable, cold and depressive. Autumn is lovely though :).

I hate bright sunlight. Hypersensitive vision...

i love the summer :)

all the rain & grey cloudy skies we get here in the spring, fall, & winter are just depressing.
i like it more when the sky is blue, when it's warmer outside so i'm not freezing my butt off or having to wear excessive clothes, & also just 'cause it's when my birthday is

I don't like the heat and bright light, but I love summer because I get three months without classes and by the end of the spring semester, I really *NEED* that time to recover from nine months of overstimulation and too much time around people.

I think I may be on a slow slope to burn-out, though, because each year it gets harder and harder to go back to school and it was REALLY hard this year and I spent a lot of time crying in the month and a half it took me to adjust to returning to school in the fall and now I'm still trying to recover and having a hard time leaving the house or doing any housecleaning or pretty much anything other than sitting here reading forums and playing video games whereas by now I would have been refreshed and happy to go to a writer's club meeting (I'm still skipping them) or go out t the woods for a hike alone (I can't even think about doing that yet.)

It's taking me longer to transition back into school and longer to recover from school in the summer break and I'm hoping this will plateau soon because if it keeps going downhill, I'm going to crash hard. And if it keeps going downhill, it's a sign that I will not be able to hold a full-time job when I graduate. It really burns me that I want something so simple and basic: to be able to go to school, get my degree, get a job, and have a simple but nice life with a modest but sufficient income. It's not asking that much. But the thought that even that little bit might be beyond my grasp is depressing, infuriating, and embarassing.

At least I still have another couple of months to rest and try to get my head together before the next school year starts. I love that about summer.

Yeah, same here where I'm at. I hate heat and humidity, plus adding a ton of tourists tying up traffic, taking over the beach, driving drunk and screaming, I'm so happy when it's September!

I'm fortunate to live in such a low-moderate region, it rains often (providing an excuse to stay indoors), the winters are mild (barely any snowfall), the summers have at most a month of high temperatures ( more than 30°C) and the Spring and Autumn are moderate aswell.

My small, insignificant country may be hidden away between global giants but the biggest natural threat we face is some mild flooding.
