I work with someone with ADHD, I don’t think he has Aspergers as his communications skills are very good. He does have some aspie qualities though. He is laud and most of the time and untactful at times. He believe, in telling it like it his, one person said to him he is the first white man with a black man attitude. He is tidy and a perfectionist too. I made a bad mistake in saying he is my role modal.

Some time in the office when he misbehaves, my office manager says to “don’t say copy what he says”, and I usually say innocently” What did he say”.

He also likes to make me jump, by surprising me. If he surprises me load enough I swear automatically. My work mates think that I am going to lose my rag and thump him, that is not going to happen because I am not annoyed or stressed out at all. But it is only because I am sensitive to load noises, so that is what I do automatically.

One of the human resources team, who know about Aspergers thought that it would not be fair on me, maybe because in post kids probably tees me by making me jump, but that did not happen. Only my older sister does it sometime, because she finds it funny, she thinks of over do it sometimes.

I love everyone in my office and would not change any of them.

In my experiance Aspergers and ADHD people do get on quite well even though we are differnt in our behaviours and what have you

When I did voluntry work with children it would always be the ADHD and asperger kids hanging out together in their own clique for the most part

This is something that has annoyed me about ADHD people when I was in school. For some reason, they think that suprising others is a humorous thing. When I was in school, I remember some of the other students doing this to me frequently. It was almost always the loud, hyper ADHD ones. It drove me CRAZY!! !

I have seen the ADHD and AS combo work well. I am diagnosed with ADHD (combined type) and I am still in contact with someone from high school who has AS. I am tutoring an AS teen and his parents and others who have worked with him since he was 7 have been amazed at how well I have worked wiht him and the progress he has made.

Have you considered asking the co-worker to knock it off? You say he is blunt, so why not be blunt right back. Don't do it infront of people, as that could encourage him to show off, but you may just be suprised.

I didn't know that aspies can have situational coprolalia as well as me. I telling you, the similaritys are striking. P.S. On behalf of all people with T.S./ A.D.H.D., I apologise for the foolish and childish behaviour of your co-worker. We're not all bad, and or annoying.
