I find myself, and found myself in the long while I've been here, telling myself "man I don't do that"
things like change-I welcome it, I find if the next day is different from the last (work is a prime example) I see it as interesting and something of a challenge
I don't keep any sort of schedule, infact when I was younger my parents tried to keep me to one (thinking I'd want that) I hated it
I enjoy socializing and large crowds, I don't mind signals, infact I see them as a challenge to understand, it sucks I am not all that great at them but hey no one said mental illness was easy.
People with AS always seemed weird and alien to me, I guess I have more in common with NT's because everyone around me is NT-friends, family, everyone
They wouldn't put up with typical AS crap so I suppose I changed, and I feel for the better...
and I'm glad for that

I'm somewhat like yourself. I don't mind changes, I don't have fixed routines. I've tried to.

Erm, I think we are all surrounded by NT's and have all attempted to change ourselves to fit in to the best of our abilities. It may not go over well for you to claim you are to be admired because your symptoms are less pronounced, as if you had arranged for them to not affect you too badly by virtue of your superior force of will.

That's like a person with very mild Cerebral Palsy claiming that CP sufferers in wheelchairs unable to speak clearly seem like aliens to them, because that one person was still able to walk about freely and work for a living despite a slight spasticity of their ankle.
