Circumcision doesn't cause autism. If it did, most American men would have it.

I am a circumcised autistic. Common actual link is bieng Jewish, not autism. The procedure is controversial and is believed by opponents to be inhumane.

So much brain wiring is goes on the first few years of life that I doubt a few minutes of pain at one week old is going to permentantly mentally change a person unless maybe the procedure was botched.

Thats even dumber than most theories about the cause of autism.

If it were true then all Jewish men would be autistic, and most Gentile American men in recent generations would be autistic. And every male person from Morrocco to Pakistan, and from Bangladesh to Indonesia, would also be autistic (like a billion people) because Islam (like Judaism) also practices male circumcision.

In 1961, the year of my birth, about 90% of American men were circumcised as neonates. It wasn't just Jews.

This is a poor criticism. The claim isn't that circumcision reliably causes autism, just that it causes it in some people.

In Denmark, the only people who get their babies circumcised are Jews and Muslims. There are obvious potential confounding factors there, particularly because Muslims in Denmark are largely recent immigrants without Danish ancestry. Both groups are largely genetically distinct from the non-circumcising population. There may also be relevant sociological differences, particularly as the study was based on boys who were already diagnosed rather than screening the population.

Rest assured, there is not a correlation between the two.

I don't find it so "poor."

If even 5% of circumcised males got autism in, say, 1961, an impression of an epidemic would be the result.

Moreover, as circumcision rates decreased, the incidence of autism has increased somewhat, even given the broadening of the criteria circa 1994.

So that's why there's no female autistics!

Uh-huh.

I don't see any correlation between circumcision and autism.

I'm uncut, but I can sure see a likely cause for withdrawal and lack of trust in adults. Getting vaccinated did it for me.

I really don't see how the removal of a piece of loose skin could affect the neurological structure of the brain.
