who here was wrongfully diagnosed with psychosis
i really need your help i know a child who has asperger syndrome four year old and in foster care and last week they took her for a evaluation in the doctor said she psychosis because she have 2 different mood swings. how many adults and or kids was first diagnose with psychosis before your right diagnoses of autism. and my i add this child is a little diva so of course her attitude is going to be the same as a teen she a mini teen. and how many was wrongfully diagnosed with mpd. multiple personalty disorder.
(note: her mother can not take her for a second opinion because you know how the foster care system is they believe all what their doctors said is the gospel even thou most of their diagnoses in foster children is biased and it not aloud to see a outside doctor.)
please answer this in let other know too.

My oldest son is Bi Polar and in children it is very dramatic. Most of the time my son was very manic and had no control of his impulses. I called him the "rubber ball" as he literally bounced off the walls. He would have serious meltdowns. He slept very little and nothing interested him but electric plugs, outlets, switches, fire, sharp objects and dismantling things. Then he would have dramatic change to depression where he would sleep from early in the evening (between 6 and 7) until nearly noon and this was at a very young age, like 3 and 4 years old. He slurred his speech and was angry, destructive, and abusive to his sisters. Then he would have times where he was hyper but manageable....sort of "normal" times. It was these times that you could see his personality and his sense of humor.
Strangely enough the doctors wanted to tell me that he had ADHD and I spoiled him too much. I didnt get a diagnosis until he was twelve and then it was only because I brought up the idea that he could have Bi Polar disorder after reading the Bi Polar Child.
Its very important to be diagnosed properly because my son was denied the help that he really needed and he is now 23, a drug addict from self medicating. Suffering from Hepatitis C, and caught in the revolving jail/prison door for theft to pay for his "medication".
Split or dual personality disorder is quite rare and is usually caused by very severe abuse or some other post traumatic stress.
