My idea of a perfect life is one where I can live in a place that won’t ever be changed so that I can accumulate and store ‘stuff’ to get back to later. The physical surroundings can be tent, a cave, a room, or a house. The ‘enclosure’ doesn’t make much difference as long as it’s stable and unchanging for extremely long periods of time.

Preferably the ‘place’ would be far away from ‘society’ so when I went outside I didn’t have to look at other people or other people’s ‘stuff’.

No clocks or calendars or telephones would be allowed in my version of a perfect life.

I would have to have unlimited access to books and literally tens of thousands of writing tablets and very fine-tipped felt pens. A good digital calculator would be absolutely essential, as would a typical selection of drafting tools.

Of course I’d need someplace to go to the bathroom and a sink but I don’t think that I’d need a tub or a shower.

I’d like to have pet cat or a dog but somebody would have to make sure that I had food for them to eat.

Food supplies for me could consist of Cokes, candy bars; peanut butter and jelly; bread of course and hot dogs. I’d also want butter, milk, especially chocolate milk. Eggs are an essential in any form. Pastries would rank high up the ladder as being desirable as well.

A workshop with every imaginable tool would be almost mandatory, as would an endless supply of raw materials.

I would need a good heat source as I hate to be cold but I don’t mind feeling hot and I think that I’d like a television but only if it had the cable science channels otherwise it’d just be a waste of space.

It would be pretty neat if my Mom and Dad or my wife could come by occasionally and check in on me.

Does this seem weird to you in comparison to what you might consider to be a ‘perfect life’?

"..very fine-tipped felt pens."

Hey, I used to be obsessive about having very fine-tipped felt pens to write with too. I have had such a hard time finding a good pen like that lately I've switched to gel pens from Walmart. The gel pens are just as good, and cheaper.

I live in the perfect life myself, and it is pretty f****n' weird, so no.

Mine would be a waterfront property with a 4 x 4 pickup truck in the driveway and a 22' bass boat and a float plane tied at the dock. The nearest neighbor would be at least 1/4 mile away.

I'll second that one about the no phones. For the books I'd just make my way to the library when necessary. A 'puter with MSWord, some CD-ROMs for my compilations, and a printer would do for my writing. Drafting tools... Good thinking! I'll add a wood-working shop to that.

I gotta have my shower stall. I can't stand myself when I start to smell like old garbage. I'll add a hot tub and a sauna to that.

NO PETS! I won't say what I'll do to neighbors' dogs that come in and defecate all over my land [reaching for a Chinese cookbook] :P

I'd have a big greenhouse and some acreage for doing organic gardening. I'd even grow my own barley and hops for the beer-making.

There would be a wood furnace for heating in the colder times of the year. A wind turbine, solar panels, and a biodiesel generator for generating electricity. No hook-up to any conventional power sourse and thus, no hydro bills!

I'd invite chosen friends and loved ones for visits and I'd visit others when I'd want a change of routine for some time, and no, it doesn't seem weird to me. It looks like something read out of Harrowsmith magasine

Oh... One more thing:

I'd get into bee-keeping. A row of bee hives and having those things buzzing around all over the place. If that isn't enough of a deterrent for unwelcome guests, then I don't know.

for my my perfect would is thus.

A large forest. And a large green tree house. I would have room for all my freinds (all two of them) and i would have the internet. I would also Work in graphics design. but i would have an agent that sorted all of my work. All i would get is an e-mail saying what they want spelt out very very clearly.

In the forest below would live a pride of lions. but they will be nice lions, so when i feel scared i can come down for a snuggle, they will also protect the place and will not be offended or think i am wierd if i lick them.

All the people who came would understand me and would be happy to be my freind. not because they feel sorry for me or my past but because they like me.

this would be my perfect place.

jammie

My perfect like may actually come true soon. It takes place in my own apartment, at least 10 miles from my parents' home, and nowhere near their work (so they can't "stop by" on the way home). I wouldn't have to worry about maintaining a "museum of cleanliness" in my apartment. I'd be able to do whatever I want when I'm home from work and pursue my interests. I would be such a bliss, it would make the Garden of Eden look like the Chernobyl site.

My perfect live is freedom from loneliness then I would be truly free to enjoy life. My life would be better then queen Elisabeth the first, you know! the one with the bad teeth. She didn’t have a Playstation, TV, quality novels to read, the time to see many interesting sites to see on vacation or anything that we enjoy at these modern times. These time are the happiest times in the while history of human kind or at least the freedom to be happy anyway.

Life, living in a Bachelor Pad on the corner of Piccadilly Circus, where I'll be able to see one of my Buses zoom by, every five to fifteen minutes. :)

A floating mansion in the sky, complete with all the luxuries I could ever want, along with a submissive wife.

Hmm...a luxuriously-appointed treehouse on one of the little islands at Matsushima. Not quite sure how I'd manage electricity and internet and all that, which I'd want, but it's just imagining, anyway. ^_^ I could kayak around the islands, spend hours writing poetry with nothing around me but the sway of the trees and the quiet, and occasionally venture into a larger city for some variety.

"The dream"..."Wayne" mansion...Batman's home. I have no desire to put on a mask and tights and go on a crime fighting spree and I'm afraid of heights....just want enough rooms to roam around in...some high tech gadgets to play with, a security system to warn me of those un-invited guests, a cave to hide in when I need it, and a super computer, and someone like Alfred who isn't too pushy or invasive, but there to lend me that helpful advice when I need it.

I'll settle for an old farmhouse in the sticks (just not too far, I need my internet  ) with a big wrap around porch and a few big trees out back. One not far from me...it sits on a hill overlooking the river...you can't hardly even see it from the road...now to just hit on the lotto, and have the owners put it up for sale in the same week. LOL...like that will ever happen.
