The connection between pain and filtering life
I had an interesing experience last night. I was working a resource fair and bit my tongue. After that I had a hard time filtering out the noise of the room. Truly it was overwhelming and I was unable to stay until the completion of the event. So, what I want to do know is, have you ever been ill or had a small injury and then had trouble filtering out sound or light.

I've been currently experiencing something interesting (and difficult).
I am normally very smell-sensitive. I currently have a cold, thus a stuffy nose. I hear most people say they can't smell anything when they have a cold. Strangely, smells are even stronger for me right now and much more difficult to tolerate than normally. I had been wondering if the "sensory vulnerability" that comes with being ill is strong enough that it's overriding the "sensory blocking" of having a stuffy nose.
