It's just dawned on me. I'm obsessed with celebrities. The Kinks were celebrities, in the 1960s. I remember complaining about NTs being obsessed with celebrities. How can I point the finger, now. I'm obsessed with celebrities, as well. My celebrities are just from an earlier time. Are there any other people with AS, or on the spectrum, who's obsessed with celebrities, or am I the only one? I'm also a little obsessed with The Beatles, as well. A double whammy from someone, who used to be a punkish stranger, who was complaining about celebrities, a year ago.

I said "other." I have been in the past, but not in quite a while.

I don't really get obsessed with mainstream celebrities, but when I was younger I was obsessed with Sarah Brightman, who is a british musical theatre/opera star.

I do have a slight obsession with Dianna Agron, who is an actress on TVs Glee which is big in some circles, but that's more of a crush than an obsession.

I get obsessed with bands, or I did. I had a Beatles/John Lennon and a T.Rex phase, amongst others. I still love the bands I was obsessed with, but I don't collect every last thing I can find on them, just the music.

The only actor I got a little obsessed with was Johnny Depp. But not in the sense that I found out everything about him (I know quite a bit, but not as much as some big fans might), but in the sense that I have all his movies except two.

Everything I loved in the "celebrity" world weren't hip at the time I liked them or started liking them (It was the 80's when I was heavy into the Beatles and the 90's for T.Rex). With someone like Johnny Depp, even though Pirates made him more mainstream in recent years, he was always an actor known to take parts in movies where the director was not well known or was a friend (independents). He doesn't play to the paparazzi, either.

I like outsiders for the most part.

I'm interested in the affairs of some celebrities I like, but I wouldn't say that I'm obsessed with them.

I don't have any long standing obsessions with celebrities to the point where I live and breathe them on a daily basis, however, I get mini obsessions after watching a movie, show or concert and I'll jump on the computer and I read all about them on wikipedia, imbd and other websites. And when I do that, I read a lot of the information out loud to my husband and he gets annoyed. He tells me to stop but I keep finding more info that I just know he'll want to hear. So I read more out loud. And he'll say to me "Okay honey, AS!! !!" That is his signal for telling me that I'm running my obsession into the ground. haha. But these mini-obsessions only last anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours to a couple of days. Usually.

I'm obsessed with some celebrities, but only as far as wanting to follow their professional lives. I'm not interested in their personal lives unless they willingly reveal stuff in interviews, because I love reading/watching interviews from my favourite people.

I also have a pretty reliable portable imdb in my head (containing many actors, movies, and tv shows). Sometimes it's a bit slow, but no worse than dial-up internet.

No, Cockneyrebel, you're not. First it was U2, and it was sort of similar to you and Mick Avery(I'm sorry if I've misspelled his name), only with The Edge. Then it was Billy Talent. Now it's people from The Twenties(Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, etc.) and both of The White Stripes.

It isn't just you. :D

I picked "Other" because my main obsession is people & the main people I am obsessed with are celebrities. However, I'm not obsessed with celebrities as whole. In fact, I don't even like over 95% of them because they seem like such terrible people.

I picked other. My attention to odd small details helps me know celebrity culture. Also knowing celebrity culture helps you fit in.

But Mick Avory and John Lennon belong to the "good celebrities" list. As long as you're not obsessed with sports stars or annoying young/teen actors you're good in my book. :)

I'm obsessed with a few people in the movie business:

Johnny Depp - He plays a lot of unique, eccentric characters and makes them sympathetic and believable. He's also pretty good-looking.
Tim Burton - I like him because he has a very cool imagination that is both cheerful and spooky at the same time. He also frequently makes movies with Depp, which is always a plus.
Helena Bonham Carter - Is romantically involved with Burton and played a couple of memorable roles in his movies Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland. She is very good-looking, almost like a female Johnny Depp.
Crispin Glover - Typecast as characters who are very creepy. Like Depp, he's also quite the looker.
Anne Hathaway - Typecast into "princess" roles. She is very adorable.
Keira Knightley - Stars in a lot of period films. She is beautiful.
