Just a tip......no need for multiple postings! That's littering the Wrong Planet.

In any case, you could have just instructed where to look for the pic - no need for the link, necessarily.

Not being picky, BUT.......Autism is NOT congruent with fragile X and any such comparison is therefore moot.

I read the thread title as "autistic typeface" and I was interested to see what particular font someone thought typified autism.

I would've liked to see an autistic typeface. Do the letters rock back and forth?

They are not at all linked.

well according to my research some kids with fragile x meet criteria for autism too.

Many features of fragile x are similar to autism

I'm not familiar with fragile X, but I know there are some disorders that are much rarer than autism, and it's common for the people with the disorder to have autism, but not at all common for people with autism to have the disorder.

Ah, webpage about the and the link: http://www.fragilex.org/html/autism_and ... ndrome.htm

Anyway, there's no "autistic type face". Apparently, from briefly looking at information on fragile X, there are physical traits as part of that, but that's a very small percentage of those with autism and is in no way an autistic look. It's also, apparently, not a strong physical difference.

Hence, a comorbid diagnostic. That does not imply any correlation, at all!

For ex: I am an Aspie (by formal Dx). I have allergies (i.e., shellfish, etc). Guess what - Aspies (& other ASD) have a higher incidence of having alleriges. But they are in no way related. You are making a common layman's error.

For ex: I am (was - I had lasik though) very nearsighted. Guess what - Aspies do have a higher incidence, statistically, of being nearsighted. But they are in no way related.

You are making a spurious conclusion. Just curious - why might this be your first post? Rhetorical questions, but most new members give a general introduction, say 'hi' and the like.

In any case, unsure about why you need to show a picture - your implication is wrong. Remember than facts, based upon science and current finding, matter. Not any given personal opionion.

tbh i was really looking for thoughts as to whether you though this face looked typically like a person with some kind of syndrome. It seems to relate to the fragile x type physical characteristics

However, there is minimal activty and forums onlin on fragile x.

Hence I wanted to get an opininion here as from my research there was 'some' link.

Ok, so say there is no correlation and no specific autistic type face...though i would say perhaps autisitc people have a kinda stare and look in their eyes? I would like opinions on these pics from people aware of autism and 'similar' type 'disability'.
