I was curious if this might be a trait other Aspies or those on the spectrum or even perhaps NT's you know who are determined. Is this a good quality? I mention to a friend I have ideas for Psychology speeches for the Fall Speech course. She said it's good I'm determined. As I told her I'm not so sure I feel I'll end up being myself and blowing it!! !! I'm not even taking a Psychology course in the fall and yet I have paper ideas for a psychology class (I'm taking Bio/Bio Lab/Speech/Health&Wellness (MAYBE Psych next semester) we'll have to wait and see. So are YOU determined? I feel as Aspies we can be determined/focused intently on our special interest field and yet don't care about other school subjects (Or that's my take on classes anyway) for me. What are your thoughts?

I am determined in the way that I know what I want to do with my life. I'm not occupied with the path to this goal, I know I'll get there anyway. You could say I 'live determined'. Can't really convey it.

IMO, it's ALWAYS a good thing to be determined/focused. Whether or not other people feel that way is not something you can really control.

I think that good professors will appreciate this quality. Those who don't are lazy and don't want to deal with students who actually (gasp!) think independently.

I can only get 'determined' about something by developing an obsession around it and incorporating it into my routines. Sometimes even then, I have to fight a major tendency toward ADHD distraction. I have to have a personal interest and investment in the end result.

I have a nearly impossible time getting 'determined' to complete a project for someone else's agenda - like a supposed 'team effort'. Rah, Rah, Rah I'm outta here...

I am determined to live my life, as I see it fit, for myself and not for everybody else.

I seem to be determined in all the wrong ways.
