Today is actually our 4th Anniversary.

Single and don't care to be in relationship. I was in a five-year relationship in the past and a few others of lesser duration.

I'm just not cut out for it and relationships aren't worth the trouble IMO.

December 17 is our 2 year anniversary

In 33 years of life, I've only been in one relationship. It only lasted a couple months. Honestly, I was horrible. I wasn't prepared for someone clinging to me and my reactions were sometimes very hurtful (I didn't mean to be though). It was just bad. Maybe I'd be better now that I understand myself more, but I'm not actively seeking a partner.

I don't know how people do it that they're in relationships.

My partner and I have been together for 19 years, what answer should I make?

Married 14 years. First for my wife. Second for me. We both believe now that a huge reason it's worked out for us is that we both happen to be Aspies. We're looking into DX's now. Though her brand is different from mine, we both now believe that it was our unusual, but compatible outlooks and values that not only attracted us in the first place, but enabled us to pull through some pretty amazingly hard times over the years.

We have different coping mechanisms that I think are almost opposite in certain ways, but they compliment each other in ways that enable us to kind of "fill in the blanks" with each other in certain situations. Some things she deals with better than I do and vice-versa, so it works out pretty well. Don't get me wrong though. It's still a struggle for both of us.

My first wife was nothing like me. Not Aspie at all. That marriage lasted just over one year, then blew up.

I think I'd have to agree with you sincerely sir, for I'm not sure whether I would be able to maintain a standard relationship these days.Actualy, I once had been in a relationship roughly 10yrs ago despite the duration of it(4yrs) I managed to learn a great deal of helpful things both of a social nature and overall understanding. Honestly, it's been a long time since then and often I've been made to feel as if I was a burden so, being brutally honest I tend to not align myself with anyone whether in real life or online for, I wish not to be seen as a problem to someone else..

Engaged, will be married before the end of the year, and quite elated about it.

No. I want to be just to see if it'll help me be happier. It probably won't but I don't know until I try.

Hopefully with knowing that my AS screwed up prior relationships, I can be a better GF or potential fiancee/wife to a good guy.

single, I don't see the point of relationships aside from reproducing babies.

the time for that sort of thing was when i was a younger man. now as an old fart, i no longer give a hoot.
