Here are some connected issues that drive me up the wall:
1. I get up a lot out of my desk and move around a lot.
2. On top of this my mind wanders and I enter fantasyland a lot
3. I am a grass is greener type so I am always looking to do something new/different

I've lived in 4 countries, had numerous jobs and I never feel like anywhere is home and nowhere is comfortable. I just don't fit in anywhere and I can't make relationships with people so I never feel grounded.

I have been at my current job 3 months and I am ready to leave because I am not mentally stimulated even 1%. I sit here all day and complete 8 hours of work in 20 minutes. It drives me mad.

That sounds very much like ADHD to me.

Probably. I'm just going insane having to deal with this all of the time. I wish I could stay grounded but that doesn't interest me.

I am wondering if there is anyone else out there like this, or in a similar situation in that they can never be "happy" in the same environment and what they are doing to treat/solve this issue?

I'm the same. I can't sit still well at all, for long periods of time. Just before typing this, I was shaking my knee really fast, and was doing so for I don't even kno whow long.. many minutes in a row, and I did it before that too, but I took a break because I felt I was doing it too much and it was startling me. Oow, I'm doing it again... must stop... but I can't. I have no ADHD pills to help me out with that... My mind is always wandering, must look at new stuff, I get bored easily, hard to focus too much on something for long unless it's a very special interest. I often get up to shadow box, walk around, or do a quick sprint up the stairs just because it helps get the ancyness outta me, then I sit back down, and shortly after I'm back to shaking my knee or something like that. Very hyperactive. Now both of my knees are going. I wish it would stop. If only the docs would listen and give me an ADHD pill like in the past, so I wouldn't be so hyperactive mentally and physically. I've tried everything to help treat it such as healthy diet, meditation every day, laying off caffeine, drinking a lot of water, working out, blegh... it's all very temporary and I'm right back to bouncing my knees.

I can relate too. I was diagnosed ADHD as a child by a neurologist so it's almost certain I have it. I have calmed down as an adult, but I am always in motion. However, I work a job that does not require me to sit still for long periods of time so it doesn't have too negative of an impact on my life. I was on Adderall for a time when I went back to college and it did seem to help with the concentration issues, but I forget if it helped me sit still. I am a habitual knee bouncer or foot shaker and probably still did it a little on the meds. However, I could sit through my 2.5 hour Calculus class with ease while on it.

I agree. When I had a desk job the only way I could do it was sitting on one of those big gym balls that enabled me to keep moving while working. What else can you be doing during the time to keep learning/stay mentally stimulated? Are you able to take on a greater work load and thus become a more valuable employee?

I am very much like this, particularly with points 1 and 2.

I have had quite a few jobs, lived in different counties within my own country (I have never lived abroad) and used to have trouble with relationships. I think, on all counts, I am starting to settle down now. I am much better at forming friendships/relationships now than I ever was in the past.

I am bored of my job now too, particularly as some of the people are difficult to work with. I probably gain the same level of mental stimulation from my job s what you do from yours. If I get no mental stimulation from a job, I lose the will to care for it and become very bored. I actually took a course in Criminology last year just to give my brain something to do...

How do you deal with this and stop yourself from entering a state of constant panic/frustration/need for change?
